Today is World COPD Day!
We know many of you on our forum will be familiar with this condition, but for those who would like to know more, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the name for a group of lung conditions where it’s difficult to breathe air out of the lungs.
The symptoms of COPD include:
✔️ Getting short of breath easily when you do everyday things. This can include going for a walk or doing housework
✔️ Having a cough that lasts a long time
✔️ Wheezing
✔️ Coughing up more phlegm (mucus) than usual
You might get these symptoms all the time. Or they might appear or get worse when you have an infection, or when you breathe in smoke or fumes.
