Somebody sent me a message in relation to my thyroid issue. I can't really add to what I previously wrote.
I know that several doctors said I had IBS and I knew I didn't. The last doctor I went to said we'll check your thyroid. I had a blood test and the result came back borderline. I don't know what the reading was.
I started taking the lowest dose of thyroxine which worked a little. The dose was increased to 75 mg and I've had no 'IBS' symptoms since.
Since then I was told about seamoss an OTC medication. It can not be taken with thyroxine. I exchanged thyroxine with seamoss and I still have no 'IBS' symptoms.
There is plenty of information about seamoss and it's benefits online. I buy mine from amazon.
In my case I saw the IBS diagnosis s a term used when the nhs do not do all the test required due to funding. It's sort of like saying , "you've got a virus". This type of diagnosis explains nothing and neither does an IBS diagnosis.
Sorry to the person who sent me an email which I deleted in error.

Have you been to a Thyroid Specialist.? I started in 2005 with a high thyroid and I lost weight and was shaky, I ended upin hospital.
I forget the name of the drug to bring mu thyroid down bu it went down and never raised.
My thyroid stayed low and I was started on 50mic , then 75 and then 100 and now I am on 125mcg whichis a maintainance dose.
This is just an opinion - Of course you can't take "seamoss" with Throxine and both have a lot of iodine.
So if yiu was taking 75mcg and no "IBS" reported, Why would you pay for "seamoss" .
Thyroid can change and best to be momitered - When on Thyroxine you are moniteredevery 6months or so - and that is the safest way IMO - Who moniters your T4 levels with "sea moss" ?
High or low Thyroid should be monitered as values can change frequenty.
I started to write an independent response which somehow got deleted. The short response is:No I have never seen a thyroid specialist, nor has it been monitored. If there are any changes I would discuss with the GP.
I am a believer in the gut being the 'second brain' and what we put into our bodies will have a physiological and psychological impact.
Our bodies need 102 vitamins daily and sea moss has 92bl of these minerals, so has a positive impact on a number of physical health issues.
