Moderate cognitive impairment, weight gain, suicidal - at my wits' end with severe adrenal fatigue
I am literally at rock bottom with my adrenal fatigue. I have no social or dating life, I am rapidly gaining weight, my memory is getting worse, I'm starting to stutter and take longer to comprehend basic conversation and information. My cognition has deteriorated significantly over the past two years

Doctor says symptoms are from diet
Hello, I have just joined. I am 22 years old and I have been told by my doctor in 2012 I have Hashimoto‘s. The number of antibodies has been fluctuating up and down as well as my TSH and Free T4 and Free T3 levels. I have been taking Levothyroxine since 2012. I have Vitamin D and iron deficiency as well

Hello dear ones worldwide. Just to say I finally settled down after my temporal artery biopsy which is 7 weeks ago and still healing well. The sudden reduction of steroids after negative histology to GCA almost sent me off my head - my legs and arms trembled and I wanted to hide in the cupboard - this

wean off Medrol for adrenal fatigue?
I have a question about adrenal fatigue and hope it's OK to ask it here. I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue four years ago, based on blood and 24 h urine (the latter showing even lower cortisol levels than blood), and put on Medrol. At most, I have taken 6 mg daily (which I was told is considered

Hyperventilation
I was wondering how many people have been diagnosed as asthmatic as a child but never wheezed then as you got older consultants and gps have decided it is hyperventilation as no wheeze. I find it really frustrating as both consultant and GP say it is not asthma but hyperventilation but continue getting

adrenal cortex or adrenal extract?
Sorry if this has been asked before. I read recently that patients with more severe adrenal fatigue can feel better on adrenal extract, while patients with mild or moderate AF should try adrenal cortex (ACE) first. It seems products with adrenal extracts contain more ingredients, and possibly more helpful

How to cope with accidents when immune suppressed by steroids?
Hi Folks, Sorry this will be a mini essay!!! I cut my finger badly last week, stabbed while taking the plastic film off a cucumber. Anyway just after it I was very unwell from what seemed like a mini adrenal crisis. I went upstairs to get my shoes on to go to A&E as the wound was very deep, and suddenly

Taken first hydrocortisone
I have taken my first 10mg hydrocortisone tablet at 6am on Monday 5th October and will take 5mg hydrocortisone at 6pm this evening. Is no one else been changed from prednisolone to hydrocortisone?

Lithium as an Alternative Option in Graves Thyrotoxicosis
I suspect quite a few people have questioned whether lithium could be used in Graves treatment. The answer, in this paper, appears to be yes. The paper quotes a case in which lithium was used for a month. Obviously, longer treatment periods would tend to show more issues. Nonetheless, there is hope

Im on 20mg in morn and 10mg in arvo (he said night but i plan on 4pm as to not play havoc with sleep). He said when im unwell i need to double it. I currently have sinus

Has anyone else tried this ? -Hydrocortisone and NDT ??
Hi , My latest plan through Dr P s guidance is to stop thyroxine for 10 days , introduce hydrocortisone in this time and then start on 1 grain of ndt with a hope that the supported adrenals will mean I can tolerate the ndt. Has anyone else experience of this ? I'm not over the moon about the hydrocortisone

~Follow up on temporal artery biopsy & GCA?
Hello to all your dear folk Just to say that histology concluded that I did not have GCA - I am so grateful to report this & mindful that this could change in the future. Have now successfully reduced high dose of hydrocortisone to my normal daily dose of 15mg x 2 = 30mg. What a relief & feel for those
