Hello : Hi I'm 39 ish with what I assume is the... - MY SKIN
Hello
You really need to see you GP as the steroid cream can cause long term problems, on a different note I developed eczema this year and I am miles older than you, they have decided it is hormonal. Good luck
Echo see your GP, get correct diagnosis, eczema can appear at any age although more commonly appearing in babies/children. See the National Eczema Society website for a wealth of info on management of the condition. Think there is similar group for psoriasis. Good luck
Only use the steroid cream when your skin is really bad. In the meantime, use Oilatum in the bath and keep your skin well moisturised with creams like E45, Aqeous cream or Aveeno. Everyone is different so what suits one person will not suit another so you need to find something to suit your skin type. Wear cotton next to the skin and keep warm but not hot. Also, I know it's easier said than done these days but try to avoid stress. Find time to relax and listen to peaceful music. Diet is important as well. Try to avoid spicy foods, pork, orange juice and alcohol (sorry,) The eczema society are really helpful and I think they may have a website. I spoke to them some years ago after coming out of the skin hospital and they gave some great advice. Just remember you are not alone and there are many of us out her suffering the same as you and it helps to talk about it. Good luck my friend
