Exhausted newbie
I had my 1st cardiology appointment last month and the consultant has referred me to have a
catheter
ablation
done. At first I was taking my meds during the day but kept coming over really exhausted and needing to sleep/rest constantly.

Possible AV node ablation due to conflict between my pacemaker and my own cardiac electric circuit. Pacemaker for complete heart block.
Any chance anyone has had to make this decision. I'm finding all prescribed drugs are giving me horrendous side effects. I'm only being paced at 3.7% and feeling very reluctant to terminate my own electric circuit. If I have the ablation then I will be 100% dependant on the pacemaker. Is there by

AV Node Ablation- anyone’s experiences please
I have had AF for quite a number of years now. It is now persistent AF and I have moderate heart failure now. I also have 2 leaky valves the AF has caused this according to my Heart consultant. I had. Pacemaker fitted earlier this year- a three lead one which has stopped the sinus pauses I was having

Reassurance post-ablation sought!
Hi, new to the forum & posting, am seeking reassurance from all you experienced people! I had a cardiac ablation for paroxysmal AF 3 days ago - the procedure lasted over 4 hours, & I am wiped out. I’m sleeping loads, a bit sob as it’s a bit sore to take a deep breath, and my stomach hurts when I eat

Hi all been getting a lot of responses and fact sheets regarding the ablation procedure which have been amazing but when do you really know if the ablation has been a success? 6 weeks? Or more?

AF/tachycardia is the chaotic irregular beat or the extreme fast beats the main problem?
Hello I have had AF/tachycardia for many years now, I also have 2 leaky valves one of them is tricuspid valve, heart block and now heart failure. I also have a 3 lead pacemaker which has stopped the long sinus pauses and bradycardia. The HF has been caused by the AF as well as the leaky valve according

Can you pick the consultant you want in the NHS?
I think it also might be safer to have a
catheter
ablation
(which I'm considering) in an NHS hospital (I'm in Leeds) rather than a private one. Any answers on the above greatly appreciated.

Catheter ablation for SVT & sedation
My cardiologist said he favours minimal sedation during a
catheter
ablation
which makes me all the more hesitant to consider it. I’m very anxious about my ability to get through the procedure as he says for success minimal sedation is necessary.

I felt so smug....
No problems at all since the A-Flutter last August then the A-Fib in September triggered by the
catheter
ablation
. That will teach me, woke up about 2.00am feeling odd, eventually got the Kardia out about 6.00 am and sure enough 160 bpm and in Fibrillation.

AV Node Ablation
Hello I had an appointment last week with one of my consultants at Barts London. It is all what I know: 2 heart valves leaking Tricuspid and Mitral, enlarged left ventricle, dilated veins, moderate heart failure, persistent AF, super ventricular tachycardia. The AF is a nightmare now, I have had 4 ablations

Migraine Aura
After my
catheter
ablation
, I experienced a migraine aura, but without the headache; I knew to expect this from information here, and so wasn't worried. I had a migraine Aura again in early July, which did not lead to headache.

Should I be on anti -coagulants ?
I had a
catheter
ablation
3 years ago in UK which was successful. Does this mean I am cured? I was advised to stay on Anticoagulants (the new type ) for 6 months but then given the option to come off them which I did .However my new G.P has advised that I go back on them .I'm not sure .

Improvement time after a v node ablation
Hi guys My father has recently had an av node ablation but still feels very breathless. He was hoping this would subside... how long, if at all, can you start to see an improvement in symptoms of af?

Endurance Athletes with AF?
Hello, I am wondering if there are endurance athletes in this community that have experience with
catheter
ablation
surgery? I was diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation 3 months ago. I go into AF 1-2 times/week and they last for 24-36 hours.

My experience so far of AV Node Ablation
Hi - when I was trying to decide whether to have the AV Node ablation, I struggled to find much in the way of positive news so thought I'd post details of my experience. I just had my two month follow-up. Had an echo which showed my heart was fine no problems with ventricles (I have 2 leads) and a
