Hi how low is your blood pressure?

What actually are your symptoms? You should be resting a lot at this stage as we say in our fact sheet on recovery. Are you getting fainting episodes or what? Maybe a good idea to ring your arrhythmia nurse.

Thanks for your response BobD. i have really been taking it easy. Cannot walk far without extreme breathlessness and muscle fatigue. Cannot stand for more than a couple of minutes. Have been keeping well hydrated. I am in Australia and live 3hrs drive from Brisbane where i had this procedure done. I have called the office of the cardiologist . Told to stop antihypertensive which i have done. My question is ...is this common and what has caused this. There is very little information about post ablation hypotension.

None of that says low BP to me just normal post ablation fatigue. Have you read our fact sheet?

As others have asked what is your BP? For me below 125/65 makes me spaced out but I've been down to 60/30 before now and survived. My wife is quite happy at 100-110/60 and has been all her life but I couldn't function at that.

I have had low BP all my life but it depends upon what you call low? Usually there is no cause for concern unless your BP is persistently below 90 systolic and your diastolic is about 30 below that figure. Lying down & inactivity doesn’t help low BP so I would suggest that you firstly - drink plenty of water, secondly - keep as upright as possible and exercise your legs - even though you remain sitting.

As Bob says - it is the symptoms which are important so if you are symptomatic - fainting or near fainting, dizzy or feeling spacey it is a good idea to contact your arrythmia nurse or GP surgery.

I understand fatigue is a major problem. Coupled with persistent low bp 80/50 dizziness and feelings of blacking out is worrying. Medications have been aďjusted so hoping for some improvement.

It’s horrible, hope adjusting the meds work for you.

It’s only since I have been medicated that my stabilised at 100/70 - it often bottomed out 60/40 was the lowest I recorded but it rarely got above 90/60 but I found the advice from living with low BP on the STARS site.
