The War on Cancer, & Stem-like Cancer Cells.
The big success stories of recent years - Zytiga & Xtandi - follow in the Huggins tradition by targeting the androgen receptor [AR], either directly (as with
Casodex
, & now Xtandi) or by starving AR of hormones (as with castration, DES, Lupron, & now Zytiga). Alas, PCa progenitor cells lack AR.

Hi, I am Michele and I have MBC ned at the moment. I am on Faslodex, Ibrance and Xgeva. I seem to be stable at this time and the doctors are pleased with how my body is handling these drugs.

Should I consider Proton Therapy
I am 75 and otherwise in good shape, I had Radical Prostatectomy in 2015 now 2 years and 3 months later my PSA has been rising, presently on Hormone meds (
Casodex
) to reduce PSA then should I go with Radiation or the much greater expense (for lodging etc) and have Proton-therapy 350 miles away?

No end to Docetaxel?
After a stage 4 diagnosis at end of July, MO immediately started me on lupron, short term
casodex
for the flair (now done), zometa for bones, and docetaxel for chemo. My initial PSA was 11.5 and mets had already spread extensively in spine.

Are there any options s being tried bypassing the ADT resistant first route?
Prostate removed, chemo, radiation,
Casodex
about 4 years ago (also made me miserable) Now on Lupron. I am miserable, the hot flashes are borderline painful, gaining weight even though I ride my bike hard in the upper cardio zone 1,000 miles a month.

About me
Originally diagnosed in 2013. Stage 4 in July 2017. I am in Ibrance, Femara, Faslodex and Xgeva. In my 3rd cycle. A Dr doing a bone biopsy fractured my thigh so I had to have a hip replaced. They wanted to do 5 treatments of radiation because the ball sits on a hip joint that has cancer. I was told
