PVC's - when to seek further medical advice?
Hi everyone, After several years of symptomatic and worsening Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation and Premature Atrial Contractions, I had a cardiac ablation in January 2021 that was very, very succesful - I would heartily recommend an ablation (sorry for that pun!). I have had the odd, rare episode

numbness, bruising and tingeling in leg after cardiac ablation
I had a cardiac ablation 9 days ago. After a week after the operation and extensive bruising I felt a sensation like a tight elastic aged band around my knee then sharp pain in my leg where numbness developed. I understand it happened because the nerve might had been pressed by the enlarged vein and

hypothyroid following partial thyroidectomy. Question about HRT and optimum T4 levels.
Dear forum, I am 58. 3 months ago while having parathyroid adenoma removed, I also had partial thyroidectomy. This was because thyroid nodule was discovered during scans looking for the adenoma. The nodule was examined and contained micropapliiary carcinoma. No further treatment needed for that thankfully

after a successful cardiac Ablation, I find myself scared to resume my previous somewhat strenuous physical activities such as spin distance
Do any of you have similar concerns, or guidance based on personal experience Dr.s seem to just tell me do what you feel is comfortable and don't over do it. I'm not sure what that is because I have a tendency to overdo things . Any thoughts

Blood test result Any help would be appreciated
I have been following this site for some time, and would really appreciate an opinion on my blood test results. At the time of tests I was taking 125/150g alternate days, I have ,since my partial thyroidectomy in 1999. Taken 150g, although gp advised I am over medicated, but was happy as I was feeling

Ectopics or something more?
Hi all, I've suffered with ectopics for a long time and 2 years ago I had a cardiac ablation which has really helped but only quite recently I've been feeling a strange sensation where I am aware of my heart beat for a matter of seconds, it feels different and for like 3/4 beats it goes fast. It just

Advice on recent blood test
Hi everyone - thanks to all the wonderful information on here and with a little push from Grey Goose (who assured me that introducing T3 myself was not as terrifying as I felt it was - thank you Grey Goose👍😀) I started sourcing my own T3 six months ago (the all too familiar reasons - doc - your

Intermediate risk for Follicular Thyroid Cancer, is thyroidectomy right option?
Over a year ago, I was diagnosed with multinodular goitre, which then, according to ultrasound, were all benign. The consultant suggested having a total thyroidectomy on basis that the nodules were quite large (5cm, 4cm, 3cm), one module is pretty close to the trachea but is not currently compressing

Newly diagnosed with CLL and wondering what tests to request.
Hi all, I didn't feel well after partial thyroidectomy. Had some teats and was told I have cll. Was told just to watch and be retested every three months. I was tested for CBC and differential. From reading some of these posts, it looks like there is a genetic test available. I have my first appt.

Amiodarone
My EP is suggesting that I try amiodarone. My history is of 3 ablations, 2016, 2018, 2020. Last one finally touched up the scars that had “failed” - so the afib seems to be gone. But they couldn’t trigger my tachycardia during the ablation. And annoyingly, the tachycardia is much more frequent (daily

Carotid endarterectomy
Hi all - just seeking some advice. My partner had a TIA on 27 April and didn't manage to see a stroke consultant until 24 May. Immediately prior to the 24 May appointment he had a carotid doppler test, which showed that one carotid artery is completely blocked and the other is 80% narrowed. Yesterday

Elevated resting HR post cardiac ablation procedure
Hi all. I love the comments and similar stories from folks like me who just want a little comfort but also realistic expectations! I’m 2 weeks to the day out of cardiac ablation procedure for lone AF. For the first 8 days it was absolutely perfect. Since then I have developed a high resting HR. Anywhere

Post ablation
I had a cardiac ablation 2 days for PAfib . I’m feeling well and was told the procedure went smoothly. I had thought that after the procedure I would gradually reduce the medication over a period of perhaps 3 months or so. Instead I’ve been told to take the same dosage as before for 3 months and then

Thyroid test results with a total thyroidectomy
Good morning all. Can anyone answer my question - I had overactive thyroid in my teens then in 20’s had radioactive iodine followed by a ‘partial’ thyroidectomy about 2 years later. I had cause to need an ultrasound on my throat about 30 years ago and this showed I had no thyroid tissue there at all

Should I have second cardiac ablation?
I am currently scheduled to have my second ablation in a few weeks. I’m currently having second thoughts on going through with it. I’m a 32 year old male, who’s relatively healthy. In the past 3 years I’ve had multiple instances of AF, have had 3 cardioversions, and one cryo ablation. Out of the 5-6
