Morphine patches, Should I use them or not???
Hi guy's, I was wanting some advice on fellow lupies experiences with low dose morphine patches. I have sle, sjogren's, raynauds and crps. I have reluctantly been talking slow release tramadol for nearly a year now which takes the edge off the pain but my main problem is concerns with taking so many

Haemodialysis and Calcification
My wife has been on APD for 2 years now. She went into hospital with lower back pain. They have diagnosed Calcification. The only cure is to put her on intensive haemodialysis for 6 days a week, with an injection of drug after each session. This will last for 6 months. Only other alternative is palliative

My beautiful mum♥♡
Hi little update on mum, unfortunately still not too good, althought her oxygen levels are 94, bp fine but she is feeling light headed and sometimes can't even get the bathroom alone. At times she seems confused which is not normal for her, matron came today and asked if i would consider palliative

What support services/groups are there in the Glasgow/Inverclyde Area?
I was diagnosed as having IPD in December. Still awaiting my first Pulmonary Function Test (series of blunders between Consultant & secretary I suspect). Now getting twitchy as I need this test to form a baseline. Also not getting palliative care advice. Docs are lovely - just not pro-active.

Happy Christmas from the household of Curcumin Lady
I know that the vast majority of people on this board have terrible stress and/or sadness in their lives, but here's a heartfelt wish you get the maximum possible enjoyment out of the forthcoming holiday season in whatever circumstances you find yourselves! As for my Missus? She has now had four 3-monthly

you during the consultation. The consultation will take about 1 hour. The healthcare professional will make a recommendation of whether you qualify for PIP to the DWP assessor and the DWP will decide.

Broken Hearted
My dear hubby Richard was hospitalised last Friday with aspiration pneumonia. He bravely has fought that off but it has left him so weak that the doctors have told me he is beyond coming home. Im sure I could have managed with a government care package but they are really hard to get even though we have

Positive News for Elderly CLL Patients - Dr. Valentin Goede from the University of Cologne interviewed by Patient Power
[i]"Not long ago, younger patients received the most aggressive CLL treatment, which gave them the greatest chance for long-term disease control, and elderly patients were given less-effective palliative care. Now therapies are targeted, have fewer side effects and are suitable for the older patient,

Has anyone reacted badly to this years flu jab?
My mum had her flu jab on Tuesday and has been really struggling since. She had just finished a course of co amoxiclav and started on levofloxacin on the Monday, as we thought she had an infection that wasn't responding. She has been showing all signs of an increasing infection but once again sputum

My mum has end stage COPD and is receiving palliative care in hospital.Does anyone else have experience/advice on this?
My mum collapsed 7 weeks ago, was resuscitated and has been in hospital ever since. They put her on a syringe driver and we've been told on several occasions to say our goodbyes. However, since then she has fought off a chest infection, a urine infection and some days is sitting up laughing and chatting

My lovely Mum passed away yesterday, after being rushed into hospital with breathing difficulties last Saturday. A difficult day
Some of you may know my mum has end stage COPD, we nearly lost her a few weeks ago. She has deteriorated quite rapidly and now can't do anything at all without desperately struggling to breathe. She is now receiving palliative care at home, she has made the decision that she no longer wants to go into

AN UPDATE ON MY WIFE
Haven't posted for a while, and not at all on this new site, but just to give an update. I think the last time i said my wife was going to be 'hospice at home' palliative care. Well that has changed and she has now been in the hospice 2 weeks. Staff are lovely and apart from the reason she is in there
