My worries about CKD are now secondary
I am 69, male, stage 3b. In 2017 one kidney was removed due to a stage 1 cancer tumor. Then I was labelled as CKD. Since then I have done on the recommended things about diet, exercise, testing, etc. And my egfr has remained stable, or slightly improved. And this website has given me so much information

Hi everyone, im new here and feel a bit out of my depth. I lost my dad last Feb to lung cancer, then packed up smoking, I then had a car accident in July and am now waiting for my Nan to pass away as she is now on palliative care. In a nutshell these last couple of months I’ve been crying at the least

A Week of Milestones.. what doesn’t kill me will make me stronger
Despite this I was determined to find exercises I could do safely, supported by my

Seizures and holding hands.
Hi folks Liz had a seizure of some kind this morning. Brain/dopamine deficiencies come to mind, but I don't know. She was given Medazolan, which controls seizures, relaxes muscles and a lot more. From memory it is a powerful benzodiazepine. Tremendous thing is that it was already in Liz's palliative

Breast cancer mets to peritoneal cavity only
Wondering if there is anybody else out there like me? Ascites was my first symptom and the side effects of having ascites. So far it is contained there. Wondering also if anybody has had hipec here in the USA for breast cancer mets to peritoneal cavity? Even if it was considered palliative care. Desperately

My Experience With Melanoma
Obviously, my name is Ryan. I am 28 years old. I currently have stage 4 melanoma. I will share my story in order to help those whose path intersects mine. If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask. The time I have been blessed with is best used helping others. When I was 21 years old I was abusing

Things are changing rapidly
In my last report I had just received my first PSA result over 1.03 (3.70) and had my water works pack in. On 20 November I had surgery to sort things out. This showed that my cancer had now spread to the outer sphincter and blocked off the urethra. I had a Supra-pubic catheter inserted in my bladder

Issues resolved at last!
Hi Folks I am sorry for the long absence. Essentially Liz sustained some bruises and accused a member of staff of harming her. That was five months ago. The Social Services put restrictions on both the staff and myself whilst they investigated it. I had seen Liz that day and so had 'opportunity' and

Did anyone watch '' We must talk about death''? I was very impressed and uplifted with their findings that patients with Dementia and other serious health issues are overall much better cared for at home. Their quality of life is much improved, and the palliative care at home is normally far better then

Talking about death
Did anyone see last night’s BBC programme ‘we need to talk about death’? As someone who was stage 4 and on palliative care from diagnosis, I found it really helpful. It was so positive about palliative care and hospices. Even verified that palliative care can not only improve quality of life but also
