heart failure after av node ablation
In November last year I had a pacemaker fitted and after 5 weeks had a AV node ablation. I am in persistent AF but intolerant of drugs. Last week I was diagnosed with left sided heart failure. I wrote to my EP at Stoke as I was concerned he is going to see me in clinic at the end of February to discuss

AF ablation risks and concerns
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and have found a lot of reassuring posts and comments on here - so thank you to everyone who's contributed! My situation: I'm a 43-year male, non-smoker, not overweight, CHADSVASC=0, generally good health... recently diagnosed with paroxysmal AF and a 'more regular tachycardia

PNI After Catheter Ablation
Hi guys, This is more just a query, rather than looking for a definite answer: what sort of time frame after catheter ablation does phrenic nerve injury occur? I only ask as, having read a few paper online I know it's something that does happen. But none of them go into much detail about how

Does Hydroxurea give you nightmares?
Hello Lovely members, I have ET ( JAK2 ), aged 56 and for 9 years just took I Cartia per day (1/2 aspirin) as level was around 900. This year, I had an atypical stroke/seizure whilst asleep (after forgetting to take the Cartia) which showed up clearly on an MRI, so I started Hydroxurea (Hydrea) at 1

Ablation tomorrow
Hey guys, I’m scheduled to have a RF
cardiac
ablation
tomorrow for PSVT and I thought I’d create a post here. I’ve had the condition since I was in my teens and now 12 years later, I decided to opt for the ablation.

Svt’s and Afib
I had
cardiac
ablation
March 2018. Two week heart monitor showed some Svt’s and some Afib. On medication and blood thinner. What heart medicine do you take to control Svt’s? I have had multaq, tioksen, amiodarone, flecainide. I now am on metropolol, fosinopril, and eliquis.

Struggling with ventricar ectopics
I tried beta blockers to no avail and was sent for
cardiac
ablation
. Waited years for it and the day comes and they cancel the operation because for the one day I needed them to show, they didn't, so they couldn't operate. I'm absolutely gutted and upset.

ADENOMYOSIS PAIN help
Doctor thinks I have Adenomyosis too, I am 44, 1 vaginal birth, tubal ligation and Novasure Endometrial Ablation in 2015. I had the ablation due to heavy abnormal bleeding. I have not had a period since then, which is great, BUT this pain that I have been experiencing the past year for up to 2 weeks

Hello, new here! Here's my story of AVNRT and 2 ablations...
Anyways, I'm recovering from two
cardiac
ablations in 2018 to correct my diagnosed AVNRT. First
ablation
was in February of last year. After another bout of SVT in June, a second ablation was scheduled in September. Knock on wood, no SVT's since the second ablation.

Exercise and AF: from Patients Day 2018
In response to a question from Pam296 in another thread here's a summary of what was said about Exercise and AF last Sunday. As far as exercise is concerned, two things make it more likely that you will get AF: a sedentary lifestyle and excessive endurance exercise. However ,non-excessive exercise

Anti-coagulants and 'lone' AF
I'm 55 and have suffered paroxysmal AF for the past 30 years. Over the last two or three years however my AF has become persistent. Because of this I recently had a catheter ablation and was prescribed apixaban which I had to take for 28 days prior to the procedure and have been advised to keep taking

Endometrial Ablation Caused Issues?
Two years ago I had a ablation done due to horrendous periods ,it worked not one period since. Now though I'm thinking in light of recent problems if this procedures caused the abnormalities. I've been digging round on the internet and it seams that ablations can cause serious problems long term, more

Post-ablation (just out)
So if you are going to have a catheter ablation; do not worry! Mine was done under sedation and when I went in, I couldn’t stop my legs from shaking so they gave me something to calm me down (and it worked straight away). There was a bit of discomfort as they put the catheters in but nothing TOO painful

Heart rate question
Hi all. New to this group. A week ago, I had a catheter ablation because of a high number of ectopic beats, which were making me light headed and exacerbated my breathing during asthma attacks. They haven't yet settled down but I know that this can take some time. Since the ablation, I've found that
