I have permanent AF without obvous symptoms - should I take up an offer to have catheter ablation?
My first post here. As my profile says, I have had permanent AF for a long time but it is without obvious symptoms. I dont seem to have the kind of problems that many of those with AF suffer from - I have no trouble climbing stairs or with other activities of normal living. I have been running most

AV node ablation
Well yesterday at 8am I was in Edinburgh hospital first on the list , my nerves were in tatters , first they made sure my pacemaker was settled which was fitted 6 weeks ago , all well , I was in full AF and my HR was all over the place , when the dr came to speak to me he said not to worry , that it

Slight Irregular heartbeat
After av node ablation and pacemaker, I still have a slightly irregular heart beat at times. Does that mean my ventricles are still working a little on their own? It may be PVC's.

Heart failure?
I thought the standard procedure for diagnosing heart failure was the BNP blood test. My understanding after reading the NICE guidelines, is that you can have heart failure with a perfectly ok ejection fraction. If that is the case then surely the BNP test is a crucial part of the jigsaw. Why is heart

Why do some people develop HF after av node ablation and pacemaker and some don't. They say about 40% do.
Hi, I am new. I had an av node ablation and pacemaker two months ago and feel really good. I was not informed of the possibility of developing AF at the time or about the biventricular pacemaker which I did not get. What determines why some people get it and some do not. How does the EP determine

Pacemaker update
I had a telephone conversation with my cardiologist yesterday to discuss next step in treatment for AF. After several cardioversions 2 ablations and high doses of medication for rate control he has suggested 3 alternatives. 1) another ablation 2) a biventricular pacemaker with av node ablation. 3) a

Catheter ablation for atrial tachycardia
Hello, can anyone tell me of their experience of catheter ablation for atrial tachycardia in either the left or right atriums? I can't seem to find much online about it (apart from those who have had ablation for a-fib)? Also, I would be really grateful for any information anyone has relating to catheter

I need womens inputs for this...
So in january I had a
cardiac

for svt. Every month since I've had a super light periods only lasting about 3 days and 6 to 8 days later I have about 4 days of a high resting and moving heart rate. But it's all super consistent with my cycle.

Catheter Ablation
So my amazing AF journey continues, today was released from hospital and was told i can have a catheter ablation although the waiting list is a few mths. Start anticoagulants tomorrow. Apparently my meds have basically lasted their course so ablation it is. I suppose excitement and terror are my emotions

Thoughts on Ablate AV Node and Pace
I have a long history of AF which resulted recently with me being admitted following a routine Echo as I was apparently in very fast uncontrolled AF. After the various obligatory tests I was told a cardioversion had been arranged for the following morning and I was started on Digoxin (which I am still

Feeling fatigue and lightheaded after ablation
I had a pulmonary vein catheter ablation 6 weeks ago and all was relatively well till about week 4. For the last 2 weeks I feel fatigue and lightheaded is this expected during healing? I do not feel any afib (my watch ecg also indicate i am in NSR), my pulse is elevated and spikes if I move/walk around

Wolf Parkinson White - should I have an ablation?
Hi I'm 41 and keen runner. Last year I had my first and only seizure while running. After lots of tests done for epilepsy all came back clear, although this does not rule out epilepsy it makes it unlikely (great). I have had cancer in the past and I am therefore extremely glad it wasn't that too. A

Migraine after catheter ablation
I had my ablation two weeks ago. I was ill the next morning, didn't feel like eating normally for four days and had an attack of migraine every single day for eleven days, some were worse than others. I thought it was just me and I ended up in A&E on the fifth day. I was given Sumatriptan tablets.

Abbott's Bluetooth connected implantable heart rhythm devices score FDA clearance
Abbott’s Bluetooth connected cardioverter defibrillator and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator, part of the Gallant product line, scored FDA clearance this morning.
