I'm about 20 weeks post ablation for a simple svt. But I feel as though I'm now super sensitive to hormonal changes.
So in january I had a cardiac ablation for svt. Every month since I've had a super light periods only lasting about 3 days and 6 to 8 days later I have about 4 days of a high resting and moving heart rate. But it's all super consistent with my cycle.
For example, my usual resting heart rate is about 64. During these particular 4 days itll be anywhere from 75 to 85. My usual heart rate while taking my 2 mile walk maximum is about 140. During these 4 days itll go as high as 165.
The differences may seem small but they feel incredibly different and uncomfortable to me. Plus my costochondritis really flares and my reflux is uncontrollable during these 4 particular days.
Does anyone experience similar symptoms?
Could this be the rise in estrogen during ovulation? Is it too much estrogen?
I'm at a loss honestly. Does this happen to anyone else?

I have svt. I’ve had two failed ablations and sadly am left with two pathways that cause me trouble, in addition to a pacemaker. I have always found that I’m more arrhythmogenic just before and during my period. My resting HR is usually higher too. Makes sense that it’s hormone driven. I was incredibly symptomatic during pregnancy. So yes, I can totally relate. x
Not a woman but my wife says everything was worse around period time. If she was going to catch a cold it would be at that time, she suffered from cold sores but only around that time, and so on so not surprising that it should have other effects. Bless her she is now in menopause and suffers terribly from hot flushes we just joke that it saves us a fortune in heating bills.
Thank you both for your replies! I am scheduled to see my obgyn this week to discuss the issue and if need be will make an appointment with my EP as well.
Sorry I am post menopausal at 64 , and can't help much with hormonal changes. But for your info my AF episodes went major each year in January and February and subsided in the other months. Only time in 4 years when they didn't when I was on holiday in Vietnam on a cycling holiday. Effect of sunlight on the hormone system ?
