My first post - being brave!
Just before I started chemo (
taxol
/
Carbo
) my oncologist explained that the cancer is now in my peritoneum, my liver and stomach nodes. Such a shock to find out that the cancer is not curable. She guessed at a year’s life expectancy. I’m 52 and thought I’d be around much longer!

Working through chemo
Hi All, I would be interested in hearing from women who have worked through chemo or tried and had to take a leave. I have an extremely understanding manager. I am on Taxol weekly for 3 weeks and then off one week. I just completed my fourth infusion and am progressively getting fatigued. Find myself

I am rigidity- dominant PD ; My personal experience!
I am rigidity -dominant PD and like other PwPD my main issues arise when imbalances between Acetylcholine and Dopamine and other neurotransmitters occur. I think we are either Dopamine- dominant or Acetylcholine- dominant( my case) PD. 📍📍Note: The DaTSCAN image doesn't belong to me and that's for

I think this couple may have issues :-)
I think the lady is on a very high carb, no calorie restriction diet. I think the man is on a LCHF diet.

Game-changers: Tips for Managing Chemo Side Effects

stage 1c mucinous adenocarcinoma of the ovary
I was diagnosed with stage 1c mucinous adenocarcinoma of the ovary in 2008 at the age of 22. It was 1c due to a spillage during my initial operation October 2008... I was closed up and believed it wasn’t cancer until Jan 2009 when they removed the omentum, appendix and lymphnodes on the left side of

Diabetes
I realise this is the weight-loss forum, but diabetes and obesity are inextricably linked, and we seem to have had quite a few posts on the subject lately. I was unable to respond to lucigret's tag on a closed thread, so herewith a few thoughts on the subject. 1) Back when my mum was a ward sister,

Doing good! Hormonal maintenance next...
Nicely chilling outside and on my last cycle of
carbo
/
taxol
. Feeling strong and happy and can't wait to finish. Bloods looking good, minimal side effects, still got some hair that's sort of presentable and CA125 still at 10. My oncologist is discussing hormonal maintenance treatment with the team.

My first Post
Started on 6 rounds chemo (
taxol
and
carbo
platen). After each round my CA-125 dropped (4988, 596,33) and by round 4, 13.2. I then went for debulking surgery on April 25th. Robotic surgery was performed removing my omentum with 1 small nodule and a full hysterectomy at UF Health in Gainesville,Fl.

Topotecan & hair loss
Hello, I’ve just come off the Sierra SRA737 trial which sadly didn’t work for me and next week I start on Topotecan. I’ve read that hair loss is a likely side effect so I enquired about using a cold cap during treatment as it worked really well for me when I was on weekly Taxol. However, the nurses

Done with chemo!
I finished my chemo yesterday. 18 sessions of
Carbo
/
Taxol
in all plus a huge surgery. My oncologist says I am cancer free. Hard to believe. Now begins my follow up sessions with him and with my surgeon. I want to have surgery to reverse my ileostomy reversed.
