Joint issues
Hi all, first post here. I have been experiencing ongoing, worsening joint symptoms - soreness, stiffness, grating and grinding sensations, weakness, mild pain in various joints - outer elbow, base of thumbs, wrists, neck and knees. I first saw a Rheumatologist in 2015 and was diagnosed with joint hypermobility

update on my post about my colonoscopy on August 6th while on 3.5mg of Prednisolone.
Hi all, I’m sure I had very little sedation because I felt so much pain during the colonoscopy that I thought they’d forgotten to give me any. Only one polyp & 2 biopsies were removed & it felt like I was awake during the whole procedure, which I wasn’t as it took 40 minutes. I even felt the scope

i have depression, suicidal ideation and I don't know what to do.
it took me two weeks to taper from lexapro to Cymbalta. I've now been on Cymbalta since 10.14.22 (2 weeks) at 60. I'm also on lithium. I have had very weird side effects. It was very hard for me to sleep. Sometimes 3 or 4 hours, sometimes up all night. We kept switching Cymbalta from day to night and

just started Alendronic Acid tablets
I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis and given alendonic accid tablets to try. The day after I took them my teeth on one side felt weird, more prominent somehow. I'm wondering if this is normal or a problem. Have asked my dentist for advice but wondered if anyone else experienced this?

Docosahexaenoic Acid Reverses Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition and Drug Resistance ...
New Chinese cell study [1]. Docosahexaenoic Acid [DHA] is one of the two marine omega-3 fatty acids that people seem to have become bored with. Are supplements good or bad? Why do the softgels have an "off" taste? Is the oil oxidized, rancid, etc."I like to get my DHA from fish. For breakfast I

Second Prostap injection
Hi, I had my second 3 month Prostap injection 4 weeks ago and I’ve been bleeding heavily with clots since having it… it took 6 weeks for the bleeding to stop when I had the first one, then I had a few weeks of no bleeding which was lovely, I started spotting two weeks before my second was due but assumed

Loss of Bone density
I have just received a low bone density diagnosis due to the 8 months of prednisone, I suppose. I am devastated as I have followed all the recommendations for diet, pills, including alendronate, and do numerous weight bearing activities. Can bone density ever improve naturally? Or is this forever?

Interesting discussion on supplements from ZOE
Here is a podcast or transcript of it that others may find useful in deciding what to spend their precious pennies on after an expert discusses large, long range studies. For those who have neither the time nor the brain today, it was a thumbs up to a multivitamin, vitamin D (not large doses!), omega

Alendronic Acid
I have reduced my Prednisolone to 3 ml a day, I was thinking of stopping my weekly intake of Alendronic acid, but I first of all contacted my GP. She has responded by saying that I should stay on it for five years. I have been on it for 15 months. What are your thoughts on stopping Alendronic Acid.

A bit of cheer when we need it.
A bit off topic, but I'm so chuffed at having self published my third book! I'm not bothered about sales, just a few reviews and the sense of achievement through all my dark days of bad consultations, taper/flare yoyos, etc. Stuck at 10 mgs Pred currently and still resisting MTX & Zoledronic acid

Omega 3
Hi all, hope everyone is feeling well. My husband has CLL and has been taking Ibrutinib for 3-years. I just wondered if Omega 3 is something you can take with CLL or should it be avoided? I have read a lot about it’s benefits, but not sure if it’s suitable for people with CLL. Many thanks

Possible Endometriosis?
Hi all, first post here. have been struggling with a lot of ongoing, chronic bowel, bladder and pelvic symptoms for many years, which have worsened recently after going through a particularly stressful time. My periods have usually been on the heavier side, but would always last around 7 - 8 days

Mixed feelings following first GP appointment since PMR diagnosis
Started on 20mg prednisolone mid June, four weeks later reduced to 17.5 mg for four weeks, no problems, reduced to 15mg last Friday. By Monday the pain was back and I was very breathless; when I saw GP face to face, two days ago I was told to go back to 17.5 for two weeks and then try again. I raised

Well I'll be damned!
Well, as a follow up to my post 3 weeks ago, I had my Rheumy appt. this morning. She spent ages with me. I told her all my woes, and she thoroughly examined me. I must've have yelped loudly about 20 times 😖 She went through all of my symptoms one by one and said she had come to the conclusion
