Optimizing Bone Health in Prostate Cancer
My blood Vit D had recently tested at severely low, though blood
calcium
normal. I have started Ca and D supplements...obviously D should have been started much earlier, but I have learned that measuring D is not, for some reason, standard of care for preventive health measures??

age and PMR
I’m also taking D3 to help
calcium
take up and B12 as I’m a veggie. I was advised to stop drinking alcohol and cut out meat to help with PMR symptoms so … I stopped eating meat! I’m not completely crazy!🤣

Advice on latest bloods
saturation - 26% UIBC - 44.4 (24.2-70.1) TIBC - 60 (41-77) Active B12 - 84 (37.5-150) Folate - 20.5 (8.83-45) Up until recently my iron results have been odd as per previous posts due to high transferrin saturation but this seems to have finally normalised and I suspect it’s somehow connected to low

I have been on a
calcium
channel blocker for about three years after taking bisop and flec for some twelve years, no issues. I am currently undergoing chemo for breast cancer, about to throw the towel in after three cycles, just too horrific.

One year and 3 day anniversary
The other thing I played around with is dropping my
calcium
intake. I don't have the link to the other long term AFer who took this approach, but I don't drink milk anymore as I would drink at least 3-4 cups a day. So here is hoping for many more years of being AF free.

Week 5 completed…and all is right with the World.
I have a recurring nightmare that I will end my days as a skin sack supported by piles of degraded
calcium
…like an old teacher's school bag full of chalk.

Blood results for vitamin /minerals
You probably know I'm struggling with top of the range
calcium
and over range PTH.. and top range PTH.. indicative of hyperparathyroidism for which 2 endos said I probably have. So is my body keeping the vit D down to help with
calcium
?

All regular use sublingual opioid medications etc how to protect your teeth.
REGULAR use of sublingual medications, from opioids to Valium etc I break mine into tiny pin head size pieces with a pill cutter. I know 200 mcg Temgesic or 2 mg of Buprenorphine looks very small, however I have followed this process for over 3 years now. - Reasons - Absorption in seconds - Better

Does anyone take Boron for their bones
Calcium
was listed, which I don't take but as I have high
calcium
levels and am waiting for a parathyroid gland removal (this year I hope), but also Boron? Does anyone here take Boron for their bones too and if so what kind of dose.
