ELEVATED ALKALINE PHOSPHATE

I had my gall bladder removed 3 months ago after elevated ALT, AST, and ALP enzymes. Ultrasound confirmed fatty liver and gallstones. I reduced my sugar and carbs, ate steel cut oatmeal every morning, and increased fruits and vegetables. I lost 20 pounds, my lipid panel improved greatly, and my ALT and AST returned to normal. I am a BMI if 24. My Alkaline Phosphate actually is still elevated at 154......my doctor just wants to recheck in 3 months. Should I be more concerned that my enzymes remain high??

You are on the right track it seems like. The liver takes some time to respond and a check in 3 months is a normal practice. Stay with your diet and give yourself a bit of time. It took me about a year to stabilize but everyone has there own course.

Thanks for the reassurance....this is all pretty new to me and I don’t want to over re-act 😅

They found fatty liver 40 years ago when I had my gallbladder taken out and I weighted right around 200 pound then. No one told me, they didn't see it as a problem 40 years ago. I was diagnosed with NASH 20 years ago. Just keep doing what your doing and watch what you eat and you should be fine. I didn't got up to 283 when diagnosed, recently down to 195 again after 40 years. I have learned so much in 20 years and what not to do. So do what is right and you will be fine.
