Covid-19 and high blood pressure medication
I have just been speaking with my GP about the link between ACE inhibitors and ARB drugs prescribed for hypertension (and other conditions) and the incidence of severe Covid-19 infection (several million of us are on these meds). He said there was no proven link and these stories were just dreamed up

Any advice on use of Alendronic Acid and Calceos
I have just been diagnosed with Osteoporosis. I am female and 64 years old and a polio survivor. I have lead a full and active life and raised a family. Polio left me with weakened upper body muscles but apart from a couple of throat infections over the years I have had no reason to visit a doctor. Last

Advice on latest blood tests please
I’d appreciate your advice and feedback on my latest blood test results and endocrinologist visit. I have been taking 3x12.5mcg of T3 for the last 3 months. I upped this from 3x10mcg of T3 to see if any of my symptoms improved. The migraine aura I experience almost daily has virtually disappeared and

Anyone find calcium tablets difficult to stomach?
Has anyone found that taking calcium tablets doesn’t agree with them? I started taking Accrete D3 on Monday, each film coated tablet contains cholecalciferol 400IU and calcium 600mg ( as calcium carbonate 1500mg) and I take 2 a day. The excipients are hydrogenated soya-bean oil and sucrose. I’ve felt

LDH jump in CLL
Hi all. My 65 year old mom has CLL (trisomy 12), and has been on Imbruvica for about a year now. Her LDH level at diagnosis was 427 (Normal is 84-246). She has steadily declined, and over the past several months has been maintaining in the 180's/190's. Today she was 242. This is a 62 point jump since

Does anyone else find their symptoms worsen depending on the season?
When I was first diagnosed two years ago I could relate back to previous winters and how I felt. Each winter I seemed to get worse to the point I was in constant pain across my shoulders and neck (couldn't turn my head which made driving difficult), down my arms (it was thought I had carpal tunnel),

Fast heart rate
I know a lot of people take bisoprolol to lower your heart rate what other ones do gps prescribe if bisoprolol and propanol are out I need to lower mine but not sure how to go about it. I am awaiting a blood pressure monitor on too. Do calcium channel blockers bring it down they might not give me anything

Ibrance and the Flu
Any suggestions on how to handle taking ibrance and having a nasty flu bug ? I had just finished my week off 100mg ibrance when I was hit by a nasty flu bug . I needed to have blood work done to check levels for blood counts and to see if xgeva calcium levels were ok . I was too sick to go to the clinic

How long after fertility medication can I undertake private full thyroid and vitamin test?
Hello, New to posting here but being following for a while. I’ve been trying to get investigated for thyroid problems for over a year now since I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis and infertility in 2018. I thought my GP was providing reasonable support but realised recently despite having thyroid

Newbie with Test Results - please could I have your views?
Hi! I've just got my first private labs back. GP surgery is impossible to engage with; I can only get a five minute appointment over the phone with different GPs each time. I had an NHS ultrasound on Tuesday and was told at the time of the scan that my thyroid was inflamed, no nodules. The ultrasound

Update on CKD
Hello all, I can't remember if I've posted an update or not so here goes. The nephrologist ordered 1100 tests. Not really but sure seemed like it. A renal ultrasound showed scarring at the top of bilateral kidneys. He asked if I'd ever had a UTI that wasn't treated, I told him no and then thought about
