Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone Favors Runx2-Mediated Matrix Mineralization in HOS and SaOS2 Cells: An In Vitro and In Silico Approach
A recent paper which discusses the very detailed effects of TSH. Like very other paper, just a step on the way - but interesting. This sentence from the Discussion was interesting: [i]These findings clearly indicate that TSH acts in a similar fashion in thyrocytes as well as in osteoblasts. If so,

Advice on latest lab please?
Just wondering if you could give advice on my last bloods? I feel ok, not swelling, but can not loose weight at all. I stop feel always cold, but my heart rate increase to 85/min I used NDT 3 years, was great, but the factory was closed, and I can not buy anymore lacto free NDT (without prescription)

Why has supplementing with T3 caused levels to go DOWN?!
Hello All, Hope someone can help. I have been on 75mcg of T4 and 10mcg of T3 for the last three months. For the last 6/7 weeks I have felt really rotten – weight gain, depressed, needing an almost daily afternoon nap, brain fog, aching joints, etc. I had a blood test this week and just got the results

I Really Don't Understand My GP
Hi Well colour me stupid. I had my blood tests back today as I stated in my earlier post. The thyroid results got flagged through as satisfactory no action required. Even though my TSH was below range it wasn't suppressed anymore. Which I was surprised and pleased about, no meddling with my Levo I thought

NHS latest blood tests
Hi As part of my ongoing dizziness investigations I had a raft of blood tests early yesterday, fasting and with Levo taken 24 hours previously. To be honest I'm a bit surprised, my TSH is 0.10 ( range .27 to 4.2) this has gone up from when I privately tested in December and it was 0.05. But the surprise

New bloods - confused about iron study outcomes
Good afternoon Fabulous people – hoping for your wisdom again. I had new bloods on 10th June (8 week check on levo dosage). I knew that the NHS bloods wouldn’t test FT3 and FT4 (even though they were specifically requested on the form by the GP). I ordered a medichecks test to test these privately.

High Blood Pressure Weird Episode Could It Be Thyroid Related?
After my last post, I increased my NT by 1/4 grain as suggested. I had my blood work done a month or so ago and my thyroid levels were on the low side of normal. (I put them on here in the previous post). Last Sunday early morning I woke up with a bad headache over the top of my right eye, I felt that

Does anyone take Boron for their bones
I am having some fancy scan in Dec for Osteoporosis (my friend who also has the same persuaded me to go too) and on the form it asks what dose of supplements you take. Calcium was listed, which I don't take but as I have high calcium levels and am waiting for a parathyroid gland removal (this year I

Afib and calcium
Hi, got Afib a few months ago, put on Thinners but Afib and ectopic symptoms persist. Stopped taking 1 g of calcium daily for osteoporosis when I read it builds up on heart valves. No change in symptoms since. Anyone any experience of effects of calcium on heart?

Dairy foods, calcium intakes, and risk of incident prostate cancer in Adventist Health Study-2
Here we go again! New study below. "
Conclusions:
Men with higher intake of dairy foods, but not nondairy calcium, had a higher risk of prostate cancer compared with men having lower intakes. Associations were nonlinear, suggesting greatest increases in risk at relatively low doses." Studies available

Heart diagnosis query
Good evening my husband suffers from psoriasis, has recently had some light treatment. Following this, he was experiencing tightness of the chest, didn’t know if it was connected to the treatment. At the same time I received an appointment from the Roy castle foundation to have a lung cancer scan.

Looking for peer reviewed studies about vitamins and Thyroid
There's a lot of talk on this forum about the importance of Vitamin B, Ferritin, Selenium and others in combating thyroid disease. Before I ask my Endo to test for the levels of vitamins in my blood, I'd like to be able to substantiate these claims with some research. He typically tests for TSH, T3,

Ferritin and hair loss
Hi, Ferritin is 42 ug/l which is in the normal range. However, my hair has been falling out and I have read that this can happen if your ferritin falls below 50ug/l. My iron however seems the high end of normal. I will post all of my latest iron results below. Is it worth me supplementing as everything
