Hi, got Afib a few months ago, put on Thinners but Afib and ectopic symptoms persist.

Stopped taking 1 g of calcium daily for osteoporosis when I read it builds up on heart valves. No change in symptoms since.

Anyone any experience of effects of calcium on heart?

I heard about that years ago, how taking calcium supplements may increase calcium in the lining of the coronary arteries. My endocrinologist does not want me to take calcium supplements but does want me to drink the orange juice and almond milk that is fortified with calcium and vitamin D. She says these are safer ways to take it.

If you take calcium supplements it is essential to take vit K2 which puts the calcium in the bones and not soft tissues. Cheese a good source of calcium has the K2 alongside.

with calcium you need magnesium and vit d and vitamin k2 to help channel calcium to where it is needed ie the bones and the vits to help absorbtion
