The Coimbra Protocol for Treating Autoimmune Diseases
Has anyone here used the Coimbra protocol for treating Hashimoto's? It looks very promising! Antibody levels are brought down. The theory behind it is that patients with autoimmune diseases have cellular resistance to vitamin D. Patients are given large doses of vitamin D (along the lines of 1000 IU

Bit of a Rant
Hi As part of my ongoing dizziness investigations I had a whole raft of blood tests taken mid June. FBC, B12, folate, ferritin, TSH, FT4, electrolytes, kidney function and liver profile. All OK, except still under range TSH, tragic FT4, really dire folate. I have posted about these, my folate was particularly

A little bit baffled why T3 has reduced slightly when taking levo
Hi, about six weeks ago I was started on 25mcg of thyroxine. It was slightly earlier but I found i was not good with the mannitol in the Teva. Anyway, yesterday did a 6 week follow up and this was the result TSH 5.91 (21.3.22) 2.7 (29.6.22) (0.35 - 5.50 mU/L) T3 5.2 (28.2.22) 4.6 (29.6.22

How do people with PMR bike, garden and hike?
I have PMR and osteopenia but can't lift arms much, typing wears out hands quickly, can't squat. Legs are wobbly. I walk daily for 2-3 km, slowly. Posts often (change to sometimes) talk about folks exercising like I used to, but that doesn't seem possible now. Should I, despite problems listed, push

Just Diagnosed Osteoporosis - Saying Hello
Just established my profile and want to say hello to all. I will be reading through posts to learn more of what each of you have experienced. I am most interested in managing this condition without meds due to the side effects with the jaw. Update 6/26/2022 full story: I was told by prior Gyno’s stand

To Kardia or not to Kardia............
Hello everyone, although I have replied to other people’s posts, this is the first question I’ve asked for myself. Knowing that many of you use Kardia’s, I’m hoping you can help me to make up my mind over a possible upgrade to the 6L version. First a bit of background; I was diagnosed with AF in late

Heart rate over 100. Should I lower or up my Levo??
Hi I was wondering if someone had any advice on whether or not I should lower or up my Levo dose? I had upped from 100mg to 112.5 mg beginning of June, but my heart-rate just keeps going over 100bpm when I’m not doing anything. I’m still tired and feel as if I just can’t be bothered. I’ve been sitting

What does this mean?!
Hi there - my last scan (2020) showed I have osteoporosis in my L1,2,3 &4. The Tscore was -2.5, meaning a -3.5%change since the 2015 scan (at which point I just had osteopenia in my spine). I also have a 6.5% chance of a “major of a major fracture”. My calcium levels were deemed to be fine but Alendronate
