I’m confused! I did do almost 2 months ago a single half dosage of chemo. But my results have been insane
My PSA has dropped from 1017 on October 1 to 642 on October 14th. Appx 7 weeks ago I did 1/2 dosage chemo (Jevtana) almost did me in and my platelets dropped to 6000 my hemoglobin dropped to 7.4. My PSA went only upward. So that was it for me and we stopped Now for the past 14 days my PSA has been

Palliative use of Dexamethasone in advanced metastatic prostate cancer.
What is the consensus on using Dexamethasone as a pallative option in advanced metastatic disease. I am Stage 4 currently trying a final try on chemo (forgot name). I get doses every 3 weeks. At that time they give me dexamethasone to help me feel good for a couple of days before chemo effects kick in

Natural alternatives to dexamethasone/steroids for anti-nausea prior to chemo?
Hi. I start my new treatment on Friday. It’s routine they give dexamethasone prior to I/v chemo for nausea. I don’t want steroids. Does anyone else have suggestions for other meds/natural alternatives? TIA x

Palliative care - medications and routine
While most of our forum is focused on treatment, I thought it would be helpful for others to post our palliative care routine. Our current treatment has made a huge difference and greatly improved quality of life. My dad declined very suddenly with PCa on July 17. He has a unique situation with daily

Some questions answered, some answers questioned, and Chemotherapy scheduled.
I exchanged emails with the MO over the weekend regarding the combination trials of Docetaxel and Radium 223. Below is a portion of the exchange. Part 1 explains why there was no treatment for 90 days. Part 2 the Medical Oncologist paragraph talks about his familiarity with the Docetaxel/Radium 223

Advice sought: on four day high dose dexamethasone
I'm about to start four days of 40mg dexamethasone. Any advice as to how to best deal with this drug experience would be appreciated. What should I eat, not eat, do, not do? I really don't like speedy drugs but I'm hoping this will knock my platelets back into line. I will take the ten 4mg pills with

Preparation for Treatment Decisions 90 Days after Immunotherapy Stopped.
When I ran a business, I always prepared an agenda. I find that taking the time to write things down and review them sets the agenda and keeps meetings moving in a positive direction while avoiding the possibility that something important gets lost. The week before last, I exercised moderately a few

Ivermectin! I think that given the dilemma posed by CLL with regards to compromised immunity, I think we need to be open this option in light of the paper I have linked below and in the absence of any suitable alternative. If there are others that have recovered because of this drug, I want an unimpeded

SST SYNACHTEN TEST
Hi all, I feel bad for many years, got a bit improvement with my thyroid after hearing for years “it’s all in my head”. Now I know my adrenals respond unwel to t3 treatment which I know I need. I was rejected by all endocrinologists in the Netherlands, and went to Ukraine to try here. They have checked

High Dose Dexamethasone Pulse Treatment
Hello Everyone, As I stated earlier, I am newly diagnosed with ITP. I see most of us have had disappointing results with various treatments. I originally had a Count of 15 with no other symptoms except petechiae on my legs. My hematologist put me on a 4 day course of DEX 40mg per day x 4 days. After

Morning all My dad has lung cancer, mets to brain and skin. He was doing well on dexamethasone. Hes been on them for about 3 months. They are now taking him off of them over 4 weeks.. hes 2 weeks in. Why is this? Can patients not stay on dexamethasone long term? Its like they want him to get worse

Feeling Conflicted
My dad’s PSA has been doubling for quite some time now, he has PSA checkups every 3 months. It seems like Zytiga is failing/has failed. My dad’s PSA 11 months ago rose from 0.05 to 0.07. 6 months ago it went up to 0.11. Then 3 months ago it went up to 0.19. With today’s PSA checkup, his PSA rose to 0.34

The current status on third Pfizer COVID Booster
The CDC, the NIH and even Fauchi seem determined to run behind the curve of the best available information. But must face the facts of the need for a booster after six months. Perhaps it will become available by September? In the meantime on a personal note, my wife recovered smoothly and progressively

CAR-T follow-up at City of Hope for Prostate Cancer to Bone
They pulled me back into City of Hope hospital with high Iron levels after a CAR-T discharge from hospital. Treatment started working, lowering my PSA from 60 to 50, but high Ferritin (Iron) hit 6000 indicated t-cells could start attacking non-cancer places it shouldn't attack. Dr calmed it down with

A non-blog update
Sadly, I haven't been well enough to write a proper blog post that's up to my standards, but am functioning well enough to give a quick update. 2WW, here we go again
This really is the worst part of it right!? Id happily take all the side effects from the stims again over this. Sadly, as expected, our 2nd cycle ended with a BFN. My bleeding started around 7/8 days after transfer and only got heavier. We started cycle 3 straight the way again. I couldnt wait, i

Introduction of myself, PMF, from China
Hi, I'm Qi, from China, I'm 34 years old this year. I confirmed PMF in 2017. At that time, the splenomegaly was high, but it was not very high, and it was not so high all the time. These symptoms began to happen to me one after another as early as 2013. JAK2V617F gene mutation, there is only one mutation
