Xeloda and dexamethasone. Has any one prescribed Dex with. Xeloda.?
What a lovely picture of the bride and groom Ruth ! I remembered that they are both academics ... but is that a wedding cake ?! Hope you are doing ok ? Lesh x
You’re daughter’s dress is lovely. Congratulations on being a part of that. I know that was one of my goals. I have one more daughter I need to get college graduated and married. Lol
I’m curious about your xeloda experience. I think that’s my next treatment. Will find out Sept 30. Is it bad?
Thanks for sharing the lovely picture! Glad you were able to feel good and enjoy the day. I have never had that combination. I didn't do well on Xeloda. My Oncologist was then suggesting Everlimus (spelling) and Exemistane. I was leary of taking them and then my daughter suggested Verzenio and my oncologist agreed. He applied for assistance and it was granted. Hurray.! Doing well on that along with Tamoxifen. Apparently it is much like Ibrance. which didn't work for me. Although I always felt we didn't stay with it long enough. Is that the wedding cake? Very nice.
Cheers, June S.
Absolutely beautiful photo. I can't get past the look on the groom's face - pure love!
Dexamethasone is a very potent steroid that has debilitating side effects if taken for extended periods of time. 2mg of Dexamethasone doesn’t sound like much but that’s equivalent to about 15mg of Prednisone. If you take any steroid for an extended period of time you can’t just stop it, there’s a long taper involved due to its adverse effects on your adrenal function, and there’s no way to know how long it will take for your adrenal function to return to an adequate level so you can stop the steroid and still function. Low adrenal function = fatigue, the very thing your trying to address. So for very sporadic intermittent short term use it may suit your needs, but it would be my last choice for low energy as it can make matters worse. Dexamethsone saved my wife’s life, but she developed all the long term debilitating side effects of long term steroid use and she’s still trying to taper off after 8 months because her adrenal function has not recovered yet. Steroids can be life saving, but there are much better options out there for energy other than steroids. Congrats on your daughters wedding!
What a lovely couple - And your daughters dress is just so beautiful! I can’t believe that those books are actually a cake, they look so real! I’m sorry to hear that you’re having such issues on Xeloda. Maybe a reduced dosage might help with your issues?
Yes it is tiring but I had horrible experience with steroids so I would be cautious. The cake is amazing if it’s a real cake it is just unbelievable Very nice couple and the dress picks up the ecru vintage story beautiful
