Anyone Taking Both Sinemet and CR ?
When first diagnosed by my primary care physician he prescribed Sinemet CR 25/100 to be taken at 6 hour intervals 4 times daily , today I met with a Neurologist/Parkinson’s movement disorder specialist, she changed my regiment to the quick release Sinemet 25/100 three times daily at 5 hour intervals

Madopar CR v Rytary
Morning all. Just trying to get my head around the difference between these two? Also, Neurologist has me on Madopar CR during the night and immediate release during the day. I’m trying to work out what the purpose of immediate release is? Why not CR twice a day? Thanks guys 💊😀

Night time medication
My husband takes Madopar IR and mucuna during the day, approx 4 tabs of Madopar 100/25 and 1.5mg of mucuna, which gives him quite good on/off times. What doesn't work so well is the night, where he takes one Madopar CR at 10pm and then one Madopar IR at 3.30/4am, with some mucuna here and there. Any

Exercising and walking when your muscles are stiff
Is high intensity exercises or long walks advisable if you have sore stiff muscles? I always thought being active as much as possible was suppose to be helpful for people with Parkinson's, but in my case it seems to make the stiffness worse the following day. Maybe it's because I'm doing some of the

Anxiety & Dyskinesia
My wife was first diagnosed about 10 years ago and has been taking Sinemet for about 5 years which has kept her Bradykesia in check and allowed her to live a reasonably normal life. Of late though she has started to experience random short attacks of involuntary and uncontrollable movements of her body

Immediate-Release Versus Controlled-Released Carbidopa-Levodopa
The question of immediate release versus controlled-release carbidopa levodopa is a frequent topic here, so it is high time to have a post specifically addressing this issue. Chart source: https://www.ingentaconnect.com/contentone/ben/ccp/2007/00000002/00000003/art00006?crawler=true With reference

Help! Shaking is driving me 😜
I have had Parkinson’s for about 20 years. Originally was given Sinemet cr. After that didn’t work anymore I was given Sinemet IR. Even though it happened at times, recently about ten minutes after I take the Sinemet I shake uncontrollably for about forty five minutes. When I finally quit shaking, I

CHEAP SINEMET CR OR EXPENSIVE RYTARY. WHICH WORKS BEST FOR YOU?
Hi Friends, my MDS is about to switch me to expensive Rytary.I keep wondering why Rytary instead of a cheaper Sinemet CR.If you had an experience with this two drugs as a patient or a caregiver, please your input will be appreciated.I am currently having off periods due to generic Sinemet, not working

Magnesium chloride - dosing
I started using magnesium chloride gel two weeks ago, every night, along with my meds; it works great and sleep has improved to 5-6 hours. But I need up to 8 hours. How soon can you reapply the gel? Is it risky to “overdose on magnesium”?

Continuous / Extended Release
I used to take Sinemet CR 50/250 overnight (as well as various daytime medications. Worked well for me. Sinemet CR 50/250 is no longer manufactured. I was offered a generic product, same carbidopa levodopa mix, but extended release rather than continuous release. I have been using this for about 6 weeks
