Sinemet CR at bed time

I take Sinemet int release 12.5/50 every 2 hours during the day. I have trouble waking with restless leg and anxiety about 1:00 am. Have taken 25/100 Sinemet at bedtime and make it to 3:00am. What has been the experience of taking a Sinemet CR at bedtime to extend the sleep time ? Thanks for your feedback.

CR at bedtime seems to help with my earlier difficulty of returning to sleep in the middle of the night.

Naturopath Dr. Laurie Mischley, with later approval by my neurologist, switched me from 3x2pills/day 25/100 IR to 3x1.5pills/day 25/100 IR + one 50/200 CR at BEDTIME, on the basis that only 75% of the CR delivery of dopamine is effective, hence my levodopa daily dose is staying constant.

Bedtime seems to be important for me: the positive impact of CR became obvious after I delayed my ingestion of it by one hour, from the earlier 5,5.5,5 hour interval daily schedule of levodopa medication to 5,5,5,6 hour.

On the other hand, after I once accidentally forgot to take the CR at bedtime, my subsequent sleep seemed unaffected... Go figure...

Dr. Mischley also mentioned that some of her customers have had some success ingesting 1 or 0.5 IR in the middle of the night.

You may also try Sublingual Melatonin in the 3mg to 12mg range [approved by Dr. Mischley] when you first wake-up in the middle of the night. I tried it at 12mg with no success. I still ingest 6mg on the basis that it is a powerful anti-oxydant.

I have the same problem and only thing that has worked for me is neupro patch. I cut the patch in half and apply before bedtime. Full patch was giving me headache and nausea in AM. Works like a charm for me.

I have the same problem. My doctor prescribed gabupenten, which works pretty well on my restless leg.

Ah ha - I realise - I was reporting a reply that was spam - this has now been deleted by forum admin and the person who posted the spam will be banned by HU in due course.

So, not referring to any other posters who still appear in this string.

Hope this clarifies 🙂

Ah thank you. No problem. The only bad here was the pesky nuisance who was posting the now deleted spam. Who is now sending me very rude personal messages 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️. HU will ban them shortly.

Yes a CR 50/200 should get you closer to 6 hours of calm legs. I take 1 - 25 /100 CR and 1- 50/200 CR at lights out (10;30 - 12:00) and I randomly have a '' rest '' waking then back to bed and sleep to 06:00.

It sounds like you are burning up more than the amount you are taking. I take the same dose 5 times a day , approx 4 1/2 hrs apart, night is the hard one. Seldom have an off symptom.

If you don’t mind I want to be clear about “same dose 5 times a day”. Do you mean 1-25/100 CR and 1-50/200 CR 5 times a day besides the lights out dose or some other dose 5 times a day? Thank you very much for the specific feedback.

Do you mean 1-25/100 CR and 1-50/200 CR 5 times a day, that is it. Or if you want to say it this way, 5 doses of 75 / 300
