Finally in control- Gestational diabetes
So it's been about three weeks since urine and blood test confirmed I had GD. I wasn't surprised as my cravings for sweet stuff was through the roof, and I had some other signs too, such as mega weeing and mega thirst, I drink at least three litres of water a day everyday! Plus with a history of PCOS

A few questions regarding elective c-sections!
Hi everyone, I am currently 10 weeks pregnant with my first, although this will be my fourth pregnancy; I'm 20. Anyway I wanted some advice from ladies on here who've had c sections, preferably those who have had an elective but any advice would be great. I've always known that whenever I have children

Placental abruption
Hi, I'm 9 weeks pregnant with my 2nd, my first baby was delivered by emergency c section at 39 weeks. I was sick a few times one morning and went to hospital to be monitored. I was due to have an overnight stay for them to keep an eye on me but suddenly my baby stopped moving around so they sent me straight

another c-section or normal?
I'm 22 weeks pregnant with my second child and my first birth was quite hard - emergency c-section due to pre-eclampsia. What I really want to know is, am I likely to have a c-section with this one? I don't see my consultant until the end of may and I'm starting to worry! Does anyone else have any experience

4 days after lap op
I had my lap op on Thurs and didnt go as well as I hoped. A previous scan had shown a large cyst. This cyst was attached to the left ovary which ruptured during manipulation. There was also another cyst to the other ovary which was also removed. Both ovarys were stuck to my womb, which they managed to

Has anyone considered an elective c-section?
I realise I may provoke some strong reactions by asking this, but I would be very interested to hear people's views. I asked my midwife about it, and she looked horrified and asked why I would ever consider having one that wasn't medically necessary. There are a few reasons. A very good friend of

Birth plan may be out the window!
Found no record of measurements for bump, for week 24 by week 28' my bump was already on the large side, by week 34 another midwife saw that bump was way to big and requested a scan, immediately I was sent to see a consultant, who although they think that junior is already 39 weeks size, and weighs

Have you all heard about a Birth Afterthoughts Service that may be available in your NHS Trust?
Last Thursday I went to the JR Hospital in Oxford, where I gave birth in Sept 2011, to meet with a midwife in their Birth Afterthoughts Service. I had had a very traumatic time giving birth that resulted in an emergency c-section & a baby in Special Baby Care Unit that had 2 seizures within 24 hours

My daughter and BWS & Paediatricians in North England
I stumbled across BWS a week ago whilst googling Earlobe Creases. My 11 week old has creases in her earlobe (as does her Dad) and the Paediatrician that checked her over when she was born picked up on them but and told me they are sometimes a feature of syndromes but dismissed it as she saw that my

Has anyone used skin glue for a C-section?
I had my 1st C-section in India where glue was used to close the incision. Can I ask for the same here in UK?

Shikha's Story - PART I
I am 33 years old and I am a proud breast cancer survivor. Had I been in my daughter's place, I could have been a previvor. Who is a previvor? A previvor is someone who would be preventative of cancer, a person who has more knowledge about their family history and wants

Dear all, i cried when i found this site at the weekend.
