Low Platelet count
My husband had s heart bypass in December 2023 and had a low platelet count prior to surgery of 284. After his surgery he received approx 12 pints of blood dye to complications. He has had no after care from the recovery point of view so no one he can ask.He has recently had a check blood test and

Worried about brother still in hospital after heart surgery
Hello, I am posting because my brother is in hospital after a heart bypass and I am worried. He has a very sharp brain but seems to be finding it hard to express himself. He was due home this weekend but has a cough and fluid on the lung plus a partially deflated lung. He was on Amiodarone medication

heart bypass graph
I’m still on the virtual ward. It’s been 3 weeks now. I’m waiting for a bypass graph. Has anybody been on a virtual ward and how long where you on it . I still got no news of my bypass graph. I’m just wondering how long people have had to wait for theirs. I’ve got a 99 per cent blockage in my left artery

Is Isosorbate Mononitrate 60mg necessary?
ps "severe coronary calcification": does this imply arterial graft
surgery
(triple
bypass
) or might stents be an option? pps second post of this as I misspelt the title!

Blood test after x-ray
Despite having a lingering cough, my mum has had no other systems but decided to see the doctor. They suggested she have an x-ray. Anyway, they've asked her to have a blood test regarding her heart. Her cough seems to be getting better and she doesn't feel tired, had any chest pains or any other

Support for husband having triple heart bypass in February 2024
My husband had a heart attack in August 2023. When stenting his artery, surgeons said another artery needed attention. They tried to stent 5 days later but couldn't and he was put on the waiting list for a bypass. This is scheduled for mid February. He's only 65, fit - but a Type 1 diabetic. He's terrified

laser
Had laser surgery for glaucoma and cataracts about 9years ago. No problems also inserted lenses that meant I no longer needed contact lenses or glasses. Go for it!

2nd Stent being done on 26th (Cancelled)
So I got a call yesterday on the morning I was supposed to go in, it was the Consultant herself calling me. She said that she had looked at my images again from 5 weeks ago, if we do stents because it's a long section they could close up again in the future, and suggested I have a mini graft through

Lump in groin after ablation
I'm on day 9 after a recent ablation for flutter, having had an original fib ablation plus top-up procedure back in 2002. I have discovered a bit of a lump... The wound site is mending itself with the haematoma colouring going, the pressure dressing came off on day 2, however, I have a bit of a lump

COVID vaccine side effects
I missed the Spring covid booster because I was diagnosed with FND last Autumn. I hadn't given it a thought but my GP asked if I thought it was connected to the covid vaccination. I Googled and there is quite a lot about it but I haven't heard of anyone mentioning it. Now I have no idea whether to have

Hi, This is my first time posting. I’m 34 and at the beginning of July I was diagnosed with 3C clear cell. There was a large mass at my ovary and a couple of deposits in lymph nodes in the fat layer. I also had blood clots on my lungs. I was told it was being treated as curative and that this type
