Buprenorphine Patches
Hi, I just wondered if anyone could advise me the best place to put the patch to get the most benefit from it because sometimes I find it barely does anything and other times I know that it’s really helping. The instructions say that it can only be applied upper outer arms, upper back and chest. Any

Free of Dopamine Agonist But ...
Today, with the help of Buprenorphine, I am about 6 weeks free of Neupro. It is no exaggeration to say that I have not slept consistently this well for 30 years. It is absolutely a miracle. I could not be more thankful for the help I have received here that has gotten me to this place. However, there

Scoliosis Surgery at 75
I finally went through the Scoliosis Surgery that I had scheduled and canceled a couple of times. I had been on Buprenorphine for over a year and was RLS free. The minute I woke up from my surgery, that ugly monster showed up again. This time I could not even move, much less walk. It started very

absolutely disgusted.
I received a telephone call from my GP this morning regarding a request made by my specialist to prescribe Buprenorphine. My GP had to refer to the senior partners of which there are three and it’s only taken them three weeks to make their decision which was NO , even though the request was was backed

Escape from Augmentation part 2
I have been excellently helped by several forum participants in my "escape from augmentation" and am now at a stage where I need to report my story and ask another question going forward:- I would like to ask for comments on my current situation. I am writing this note having been awoken by nausea

Clonidine - success with RLS anyone?
Evening team I have a query. As some of you may remember I was prescribed Buprenorphine two years ago by a neurologist for my restless limbs. I have a feeling I may have asked this question before, maybe not in one of my posts, (can't remember!) Does anyone out there take Clonidine for RLS? if

Long-term use of buprenorphine
I'm considering using buprenorphine. Even if you use this product for decades, will there be any problems such as resistanse or increase in dosage?

Dragging a millstone up a mountain. RLS blind spot, patient’s apparently don’t know best.
Hello friends, it’s a while since my last post but was waiting until I had some good news to share with you all but as the title of the post indicates the opposite. I have a wonderful Consultant Dr Jose Thomas who specialises in sleep disorders and RLS, the downside is he is based in Wales uk and I

The recent AASM Draft Guidelines
I finally had a chance to look at the recent AASM Draft Guidelines. I was surprised by a number of things. They should have had something between conditional for and conditional against. Why did they choose those particular things? Some don't even have much relevance to improving RLS such as antidepressants

I've suffered with rls for over 30 years which has gradually got worse and worse. I'm now 74. After taking dopamine agonists for years, then tramadol, codeine and trying Kratom nothing was working and my doctor and neurologist would and could not prescribe anything else. In the past I had tried Pregabalin

Cold Turkey Update
Some of you are familiar with my story so far so I will make this brief. Three years ago I was taking 6mg Pramepexole. It took me nearly three years to taper the dose down to 1.25. My idiotic Neurologist said he would no longer treat me unless I stoped taking Pramipexole. He writes my prescriptions

Buprenorphine tablet's refused....why ?
I have, yet another, short story! I had spoken to the Pain Clinic Specialist Nurse about changing from the Buprenorphine patch to tablet's and she agreed to write to my Dr. and ask him to change over because I am having a reaction to the gum on the patch and the itch is driving me nuts! I have been

What is meaning of an opioid being licensed?
I am told in the UK methodone and buprenorphine (for example), are not licenced for use in RLS. But some people seem to have access, so how is that? Is it that they have to pay for them? Can a GP prescribe them? how does it work?

what scale jewelry scale
So I have buprenorphine tablets in 2mg size. I want to be able to start with a 1/8 dose of this so looking at jewelry scales.....phew there are a lot to pick from. What scale should I look for? I also hope to use this scale for reducing the pramipexole down and need to be able to weigh shaved off amounts

Buprenorphine patch & sublingual effective life
The attached tables are from Science Direct, 2013. They show the plasma concentration of buprenorphine from a 10mcg patch day by day, including what it looks like changing the patch every 7 days over 3 cycles. If you wait a full 7 days to switch, the level when you switch is roughly half what it is

buprenorphine - sublingual to transdermal conversion
I have seen a few instances where people are switching from sublinguals to patches, and they are getting too high of a dose for the patch. Here’s a table that shows dose equivalents for several opiods. Everything is converted to ME (morphine equivalent) for sake of comparison. You have to read footnote

I have been on here a few times and Jools and Sue saved my sanity! Other's have also been so kind so, thank you...again! I do have another question which I'm sure Jools and Sue can help me with. The 20 mcg Buprenorphine patch has helped my RLS hugely though I know it's lurking but I can now sleep which

buprenorphine for RLS
Hi all! I was just wondering if any of you are under the sleep team at Guys hospital and also if you have been prescribed Buprenorphine from them. I am due my next appointment in a months time and am wondering whether it is worth asking them. My GP was persuaded to put me on 20mcg patches which work

looking for a neurologist
Can anyone recommend a neurologist knowledgeable in RLS in the Bristol/ Bath (England) area ? I currently have a neurologist whom I rate quite highly but who cannot prescribe opioids as they are not on the formulary of the hospital where she practises. She has however asked my GP to prescribe Oxycodone
