Having lymphocytic leucocytosis is standard for members of this community unless they have the SLL (small cell lymphoma) expression of CLL/SLL don't have a blood cancer diagnosis, or their treatment has worked well.
Leucocytosis just means an increase in the number of white cells in the blood. Lymphocytic leucocytosis means that increase is in your lymphocytes. (There are 5 different white blood cell types healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo... ).Leucocytosis is a normal response to an infection, but when it is due to a clonal population, it's a blood cancer. Everyone with a CLL diagnosis in this community had lymphocytic leucocytosis caused by clonal B cells that have the typical flow cytometry expression for CLL of CD19 (B lymphocytes) also expressing CD5+, CD23+, CD20+ (usually dim). We also have members with different B cell blood cancers with accordingly different flow cytometry markers.
This is why it is more accurate to track your absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) than your WBC count to monitor the amount of CLL in your blood.
