The joy of the unclear diagnosis 😂
This is a verrrry long post!! If anyone actually reads to the end you have my full respect I’m a returning member to the forum. I used to be active when I was being treated for severe asthma. I used to routinely end up in hospital for basic chest infections, and struggled with chest aching and tightness

I am taking a long haul plane journey soon and wondered if anyone has had a positive experience with portable nebulisers and what to be look out for when using one.

Late onset Asthma - help and advice
Hi. I'm hoping that this forum may be able to help. Sorry in advance if this ends up a long post. I started in January with a cough that was accompanied with a wheeze. I had no other symptoms other than a continuous cough which effected my sleep. 1st visit to the doctors its a virus and will clear up

Confusion
One of the things most interesting about using this site is the variety of different experiences people have with the same problem, in my case bronchiectasis. I have been diagnosed for 12 years and see my consultant regularly. She is a bit unforthcoming and big on science. In that time I have had one

Asthma Flare Up/ Chest Infection
Hi everyone. I realised a couple of weeks ago that my asthma was getting worse again (I have severe uncontrolled asthma) and so I spoke to my GP who recommended that I up my Flutiform to 3 or 4 times a day as well as using my consultant approved home nebuliser which seemed to help but then last week

Refusal to give nebuliser at A & E. Has anyone else experienced this?
I had the misfortune to have to attend A&E with an asthma attack. I feel very let down and wonder why I bothered. I had just visited a relative in hospital when it happened. I gave myself 10 puffs of ventolin in a spacer and when no improvement set off walking very slowly, the relatively short distance

Change in symptoms
I have bronchiectasis (from childhood) and asthma, colonised with pseudomonas. Usually, I'm quite able to do chest clearance every day to get rid of the sputum lurking in my lungs. However, over the last week, my chest has become very 'dry', and I have a hoarse voice! Not feeling great, any ideas

Making a summary of your asthma to use in A&E/with paramedics: what these are and why they can help
Hi all, It's come up a couple of times recently that people have had less than ideal experiences with emergency care for asthma. I thought I'd post something about the summary I created and use when I need to go to A&E, which I know other 'regulars' have also found helpful. EmmaF91 has made a template

Ordered my nebuliser today😊
Recommended by GP to get a nebuliser so I can do saline nebs to help my lung clearance. To avoid the inevitable long waiting list to be dealt with by NHS for this, I took advice and have today ordered a Pari boy classic machine for myself, which will arrive ( postal strikes permitting) on Monday.

Asthma flare up due to anxiety
Because of everything that I am dealing with and no real outlet (yet) my asthma is not being triggered. I had the worst asthma flare up I couldn’t catch my breath at all yesterday not even a nebulizer treatment and 4 inhaler would work. Had to go to the UC to get put on a steroid to get my breathing

Asthma a and e
hi I have just got home after an admission for 24 hrs to a nd e and AAU . It was the most frustrating and poor experience I have ever had.It was in the hospital which I work in as a nurse. I now am terrified to go for help. I have cough variant asthma and was initially triaged to GP who said I needed

🎠The mask slipped😪
My gp surgery managed to crack my facade and make me cry. I finally managed to speak to a person to ask why prescription for nebuliser hadn't been fulfilled. (They fulfilled prescription for ampoules to be nebulised but no nebuliser!) The rudeness and unhelpful attitude beggers belief. I know gps
