Blood sugar all over the place
It's been 20days after my 5x bypass. My blood sugar level was not well controlled at all. I'm on metformin 500g x twice daily. BMI 21, I am a type 2 Does cabg affect blood sugar? I'm on iron pills and its making me constipated too. Does anyone have the same experience? I'm also watchful of my food.

Face masks - recommendations?
My husband is still recovering from a stem cell transplant earlier this year and will need to shield until end of July. I have to go back to work next week. I work in a supermarket and although they say they have social distancing measures in place, they are not always followed. I want to invest in some

Aftercare from hospital after CABG (or lack of!)
My fiancé had x3 bypass in late January 2020. He had AFib and a heart flutter after surgery and had to spend additional time in icu. He has missed out on all aspects of aftercare - no cardiac rehab and 1 telephone consultation with his original cardiac consultant (not the team that completed his surgery

Ear blocked after my CABG bypass
Does anyone get any ear muffled after surgery? My right ear is like a little blocked, a little muffled after 10days into my surgery. Just curious if this is common. And having sleepless nights. I managed to wink only 30-60min and will be awake. Surely frustrating Cheers

Looking for Practical Help
I have now had 4 heart attacks since 2015, started at the age of 31 and a double cabg in May 2019. Since the cabg was done I have been even more ill, their last throw of the dice didn't work and I am now at 36 received palliative care for advanced heart failure. The thing I am struggling with is practical

Stem cell transplant anniversary
It is now exactly 12 months almost to the minute since I watched the bag of stem cells slowly drain into the Hickman line. It's been a very eventful 12 months to say the least. Since my last post 9 months ago I had a difficult end to 2019. I was hospitalised for pneumonia in October which turned out

Getting back up again, sometimes it’s an effort
So last week I had 4 more Stents fitted, giving me a total of 15. 6 years ago I had a quad CABG, been living with heart issues for 20yrs. I’d finally got myself fit again, sub 30 min Parkrun, 50k trail run completed last year and managing to go running for long distances. Didn’t expect to have another

Slow heart rate
Has anyone suddenly had a slow heart rate? I had cabg x 4 in April 2019- been well since but my resting heart rate now 54ish. NHS website says +60 should be norm. Docs have reduced bisoprolol but not making any difference. Feel tired with it.
