PSA doubled in last 30 days after 4 months stable since Provenge. What's next?
Update: PSA remained roughly 1.7 to 1.8 for last 4 months after Provenge but yesterday's 30-day PSA test revealed a jump to 3.190 so something is growing quick. I have been off of all ADT since finishing fourth LU-177 injection five months ago and one SBRT treatment 4 months ago. After LU-177, PSA

I finished 6 cycles of carboplatin/paclitaxel at end Oct and it seemed to have really worked on the cancer that is in my liver and peritoneum so following advice of my oncologist I’ve had a break as I’ve been on chemo of some kind or other since Sept 21. After a scan and in Dec he talked about me having

Is it PSA recurrence or not...
My friend had a radical prostatectomy a year ago. Since then his monthly PSA results were stable, at 0.006 3 months ago his PSA went from 0.006 to 0.012, then the next month to 0.029. His MO wanted to see the third month's results in order to consider salvage radiation therapy. Luckily, third month's

Mortality Probability after first PSA rise vs non-castrate testosterone levels (low vs Normal)
Here's a plot from Atkins (2018) that shows the Percent risk of Prostate Cancer-specific Mortality versus time following a first PSA failure, for two different non-castrate testosterone levels (Low-T and Normal-T). The low testosterone levels are: median = 162, range = 120-236 ng/dL. Normal T is 400

PSA Score Doubling / Lab Error?
Hey folks I was diagnosed back in 2017 with 3+3, later upgraded to 3+4, but with less then 5% of G4. Epstein reviewed and said he would go against Johns Hopkins policy to automatically treat ANY amount of G4 and stick with AS, at least in my situation. Before and since my diagnosis, my PSA score has

PSA reduction after Estrogen Patch Therapy
Here's a revised plot of PSA reduction due to castration from Estrogen Patch therapy. The previous version had the wrong time scale. That has been corrected in this version. The total time is 3 months, after which the PSA and testosterone both flatten out versus time. I've also added the reference

Prostate biopsy from rib ?
My dad , 83 , diagnosed with pc with mets to bones as per mri and psma. Not done biopsy yet as nervous to put dad through it and one oncologist said it’s not needed as the treatment would be ADT but then 3 other oncologists say it’s good to get it done as we would know what exactly we dealing with

PSA drop with decreasing Testosterone after Estrogen Patch Therapy
Here's a plot that I made from data taken from the PATCH estrogen patch therapy study. It plots the % reduction in PSA from baseline (100%) at time = 0 as a function of testosterone levels over a period of 4 weeks. As you know, estrogen effectively castrates men, causing a drop in testosterone over
