update: Zanabrutinib vs Obenven (O&V)
We are praying for Gods wisdom (James1:5), and we’re leaning toward the Zanabrutinib. The infusions and time and distance will be impactful to my husbands work and he’s prefer to go the simpler route. We learned he’s still 13Q and TP53 negative and his lymph nodes are reduced (we have used ALT for

Surgery and immuno suppressants
Hi everyone. I am due to have minor surgery on my wrist and have been asked by my surgeon to cease taking mycophenolate for a week before and a week after my operation (I presumed because of possible risk of infection?). I spoke to my rheumatologist about this and she considered it unnecessary to stop

Bladder & Urethra Issue
RP 2007 and EBRT 2009. I've had intermittent hematuria for many years and on 3 occasions blood clots have caused obstruction and inability to urinate. I've learned to self catheterize in these situations which has usually resolved the issue after a few days. This time it's more severe. Heavy bleeding

Using ChatGPT to help us understand tinnitus. Thoughts? Here's an AI Assistant I've created for understanding Tinnitus
Just a topic for debate but I'm interested in your thoughts and maybe your direct experiences with AI to understand tinnitus. I'm assuming everyone has heard about AI and ChatGPT and other Generative AI tools. GPT is short for Generative Predictive Text. It is what it states (a convincing) prediction

Bad dumping incident?
Hi there. Just thought I’d reach out to see if anyone can relate to my situation. I’m over 5 months from three way Oesophageal Surgery. I was doing really well with eating and fitness levels. Then last Friday (after a Chinese takeaway which didn’t consist of more than some noodles and a bit of chicken

Lipoid pneumonia
Earlier this year I had serious nose bleeds resulting in hospital admissions and cautery. Subsequently seen by ENT consultant who advised daily insertion of Vaseline into nostrils to prevent them drying out and possible further bleeds. Since then I found on the internet (various reputable sites)

My journey
I wanted to share some things that have helped me over the years since my weight loss surgery in 2017. When I started this journey I had ballooned to 312 pounds on my 5'7" Frame. I was, and still am, an emotional eater...struggle with it every day.....what I've found that has helped me the most is

GP visit!
So I went to see my GP yesterday and discussed my symptoms, and asked about B12 injections. Got the same old story - test within range, symptoms aren’t bad enough, try oral B12 for three months, despite my explaining that I have low stomach acid and problems with malabsorption, which she again dismissed

Are endocrinologists of any help after ADT?
After ADT, my MO told me that handling things like Prolia management won't be in her bailiwick. I didn't ask about post-ADT SE's and recovery from same. Hot flashes, low T, BMD loss, and last not least sarcopenia. What is the community's experience with how post-treatment SE's are best handled? Are

Swollen hand
swollen painful hand ( just the one thank goodness) any connection with steroid reduction? Any thoughts? Doctor eliminated carpel tunnel, being sent for blood test for rheumatoid arthritis but I have noticed it is worse when I have just reduced by 1mg my dose of prednisolone which I take for PMR. It

Disimpacted 9 year old and still soiling
my 9 year old has been suffering with chronic constipation for 6 years, we are all at our wits end. It is hugely affecting my, but more importantly her, mental health. At the beginning of July we had a hospital stay for disimpaction via a NG tube. This was effective. Doctor prescribed 5 ml of sodium

Brain metastasis
New (Portuguese) anecdotal case study below. [1] When I began reading PCa studies on PubMed, I saw a lot of cell studies that used LNCaP (from a lymph PCa cell), PC3 (from a bone PCa cell) &/or DU145 (supposedly a brain met cell, but now described as "derived from a central nervous system metastasis

Webinar: What causes photopsia and photophobia in patients with Stargardt and what impact does it have on their lives?
Flashing lights in vision (photopsia) or discomfort due to bright light or glare (photophobia) is often experienced by patients with Stargardt. However, little is understood about what causes these symptoms, their prevalence or the impact they can have on people’s lives. Omar Mahroo, consultant ophthalmologist

unfortunately the liver mets have returned to Martins liver. It is 6 months since chemo finished. There are multiple small mets. Martin is still feeling well. No fatigue, loss of appetite or pain. His MO said that this is very bad and gave a prognosis of 12 months. He is starting Martin on carboplatin

Cirrhosis & Diverticular disease
I was recently diagnosed with Diverticular disease and Cirrhosis of the liver, after having a Scan and colonoscopy. I was referred to the Gastroenterlogy department at the hospital for triaging and consultation with regard to the cirrhosis, but it looks as if both of those will take months to happen.
