Seeing my GP tomorrow and feeling nervous...
I have an appt tomorrow afternoon. Was feeling confident that I would present her with the Medichecks result and ask her to repeat it, along with vitamin and my always high ESR which haven't been done for over a year. But I read that Biotin can mess up results and I had no idea until I read something

Help with blood work
Hi all, This is my first time posting here. Apologies in advance for the long post. Just over a year ago I had my thyroid removed for cancer. I originally had problem with just being on thyroxine alone, but thankfully I had a GP who prescribed me a combination of Armour (90mcg) and Thyroxine (50mcg

Restless legs only at night
I've been trying to figure this problem out myself to long. Sleeping issues but only at night. I lay down at night and medicated or not my legs, use to be mainly the left one now it is the right one, gets a little jolt of tingly like electricity down my leg into my knee usually and builds for a second

An aneurysm
Have recently been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm by ct scan. I've been told I need an MRI scan and wondered how long I have to wait for that. Seems I have to go to another hospital for this. Really worried, should I be?

Has anyone received the new DBS units?
I’m 3.5 years with my Medtronic unit and I have had a battery replaced a year ago. In general I am pleased with the results but the disease is still running it’s course. Im curious if there’s others out there that have benefited from the new units from St Jude , the infinity or Boston Scienctific,

Adrenals at and below physiological levels of prednisone.
I’m curious about how to tell if my adrenals have started coming on board at 6mg. Pred. I’ve posted about the weak Wobblies I was getting in the afternoons starting @8.5 mgs. Then the Wobblies morphed into smoother waves of weakness at around the same time @7mg. Now I’m mostly @6mg for the last several

Recent blood tests- need advice
Case is now in its 41st year, would very much appreciate your advice and recommendations as brain fog is worse now than ever- extremely depressed coupled with constant anger. Recent blood tests done by NHS lab in Royal Hospital Liverpool got total backing from GP and included many tests not relevant

Help with my lab results
Hi guys, Last year I got severe Alopecia areata and while getting tested discovered I have hashimotos. I am really hesitant to go back to my endo because she didn't actually tell me I had hashimotos- I had to read it in a referral letter I peeked at to my GP. I found this to be quite a shocking failure

Hi all. Today i have been discharged from the hospital as i refuse to take statins. I was blatantly told that their job is to prescribe medication and if i refuse to take it, they will refer me back to my gp who can monitor my cholesterol via blood tests. Fair enough but before they completely remove

Post DBS Surgery
Good morning! As we approach Easter, I urge each one of you to find some small ray of hope in your lives that will enable you to be at peace with where you are in your Parkinson's adventure. As I move past my 2-1/2 month mark from the DBS surgery, I am reminded each day through your postings here that

6-Months Strong
Just hit my 6 months nicotine free as of the 22nd. I just want to give all my fellow quitters some strength. Chest tightness, shortness of breath, fatigue, change in bathroom habits will all fade. I highly recommend drinking a cup of caffeine free tea everyday, upping your vitamin b intake that includes

Bacterial Meningitis
Hello I’m wondering if anybody can help me or offer me any words of advice? I’m a 42 year old active male, on the evening of 19th February I had a mild headache. But woke early hours 20th with a server headache, then started being sick. I thought I’d got a migraine and stayed in bed until lunchtine

When to stop taking Biotin before thyroid blood test?
Happy Friday everyone :) I have been taking biotin every day and my blood test is in 5 days. Would the results still be affected even if I stop taking them for 5 days?

How Biotin Impacts your Thyroid Hormone by Suzy Cohen Pharmacist
There was a medical conference held in San Diego California recently and a physician presented a case study about a woman who took a large amount of B vitamin called biotin. I’m sure you’ve heard of it, it’s the B vitamin that everyone takes to try to get thick hair and strong nails. Anyway, the 55 year
