Bereavement

My dad passed away last week after a long illness. He went peacefully in the end but only after us sitting with him for three days, watching him go slowly. Unsurprisingly my IBS has flared up once again and it just feels like too much to take along with the grief. I just don't know how to manage everything

I am admitting to myself that though I appear functional - I work full time, I volunteer for bereavement groups, I look after my surviving family - I need help. I have gotten to a point where I am running on empty. Hoping others will understand.

Well done everyone else, and my thanks for your kindness during a bereavement that has knocked me totally for six. Getting the running shoes on and ordering myself some new kit have been acts of faith in the face of an otherwise unimaginable future. Onward...

Thyroidectomy, bereavement, mental health, physical health? Hi everyone - I have posted before about my thyroid issues. I’m looking for some advice on where I can turn to for help - I’m pretty desperate. This year has been terrible for me and I really need help.

I’m currently experiencing a difficult time owing to a family bereavement . My tinnitus has been getting worse over last few days and today my hearing is almost completely gone in my right ear . I have had an mri with clear results . Is there anything I can do to try to help calm it down ?

I am also dealing with a bereavement, and managing PMDD (pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder).

I’m devastated as we are only funded for 6 months and this will eat into such a big chunk of time, plus we already a lost a month at the beginning of our referral due to a bereavement. Has anyone successfully extended their NHS funding in these circumstances?

Can anyone who has suffered a bereavement and is in low spirits give me some encouragement, on any level? I am now 67 years old and feel life has come to a full stop. The rain reflects my mood.

I’m not new to HealthUnlocked, but am new to this bereavement group, sadly. My mom is actively .passing. It is so hard to watch, yet I am so blessed to be with her now (and my family). This is the last place I want to be, yet the only place…ya know?

I lost my job 6 month’s ago, this was because I messed up while having to stop my HRT, I had to stop cold turkey and it made me loopy, depression and anxiety took over, struggling to get out of bed, but feeling guilty not having a job, trying to get one, but not at the top of my game and not being successful

I lost my husband Chris when I was 47 and I started to write poetry about bereavement, which is how I met Nigel, as his wife had died and who is the reason that I am on this forum. He died in 2019.
