Hi everyone, I have started taxol three weeks ago. I was supposed to start Avastin at the same time but I had dental work done and it’s on hold until November. I’m stage 4B ovarian and I’m really struggling with the taxol . I’m really weak and fatigued. Anyone any experience of this .
thanks xx

I'm in the states but would ask for extra fluids during your infusion or if your able go back for a another bag the following day there's also packets they sell on Amazon a nurse recommended them you add to water "IV infusion" I'm also on Avastin its been very tolerable.
Hi Kieran, I don't know if it's any help but I was on carboplatin and taxol and avastin and would fall off a cliff with fatigue 3 days after every infusion. After some experimenting the dosage was reduced slightly and the steroids titrated down gradually over a week rather than just stopping which was a great help. I had avastin for 15 months after finishing chemo and also found it tolerable. Just some fatigue.
yes, taxol is very harsh and fatiguing. The good news is, it works well for many. Avastin treatments kept me in maintenance for many years. I hope it works for you!
