Anticoagulants stopped by new consultant
I'll try to be as brief as possible! January 2019 I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism in both lungs and also AF and flutter. After various unsuccessful attempts to correct heart I had a catheter ablation June 2019 . Responded well and put on Bisoprolol and anticoagulants which I was told would

Ablation update
Well, I had a catheter Ablation in February and had a 7 day ECG last week to check how it went. I can say that gladly it was successful, done by Prof Richard Schilling and thanks very much for his skills and knowledge. Hoping to continue recovering in the months to come. I had an insurance funded treatment

Having an ablation when AF is well controlled or when things deteriorate?
I keep reading posts where the decision is made to hold off on an ablation as the medications are working well. My meds are doing a great job and I have been in the hold off camp. I have just read a cardiology review 'Ablation as First-line Therapy for Atrial Fibrillation' by Jason G Andrade where he

Second cardiac ablation attempt
Hi there, I am a 31M fit and healthy and suffer from a high frequency of left ventricle premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) with a ~18% burden. They are coming from a small area near the LF papillary muscle . I had an ablation under a very skilled EP in London who successfully ablated the problematic

Afib heart ablation Post Op
I am curious to hear how people felt immediately after the catheter ablation and for the week following. I don't know if I should sign up for more time off work or if three days is enough of a recovery period.

Update following catheter ablation.
Well, those 6 weeks (on Tuesday) have flown and the heart continues to behave 🤞😊Still getting a feeling of trapped wind when I swallow especially when I lie down at night. My GP thinks this may be the esomoprazole as it's notorious for causing gas. I also have a bit of a sore tongue of all things,

One year post endometrial ablation and lap update.
This time last year I had endometrial ablation. Mirena coil fitted and bilateral ovarian cysts removed. All has been really good. I occasionally get verve pain around port sites from my lap but generally much better. No period in a year which is an unbelievable relief after months of flooding pre op

Medscape posts the new consensus about treating AF
“previously, catheter ablation has been used mainly for patients with paroxysmal AF who have already tried or who were intolerant to antiarrhythmic medical treatments, but now, the consensus statement is recommending catheter ablation even in patients who have not tried other treatments. This is based

cardiac ablation good experience
hi everyone, I have just had my cardiac catheter ablation for my ventricular ectopic beats ( I have a very high ectopic load) It has gone well and I was really well looked after by the team . In case anyone is waiting for their ablation thought it might be helpful to share my experience. In my case

I was diagnosed with AF 7 years ago while at our holiday home in Spain and had the catheter ablation 5 years ago in Switzerland our main home. I wrote last week that I had a cold and thought I was back in AF after being free for 5 years and in Spain again. After 6 days of continual high heart rate

sympathetic ears…
Sometimes I think no one else gets it :( I was lucky to get surgery on Wednesday. This is my third surgery but I really was so so poorly afterwards. I’m feeling lonely, tired, emotional and in pain. I hate people worrying about me so I’ve kept it quiet ish, hardly anyone knows and now I feel useless

Rib soreness and Abdominal bloating.
I'm a month and a week out of my Catheter Ablation and I'm experiencing soreness in my right ribcage and my abdomen feels full and bloated. Almost as if I ate a big meal. Has anyone else experiencing any of these symptoms? Don't if it from the ablation or medication or maybe none of the above.
