Is an ablation for Persistent AF right for me?
The number rises to 84% with
AV
node
ablation
and a pacemaker fitted. The clerk I spoke gave no details of the type of ablation they intended to carry out and didn't mention a pacemaker, which is not something I know anything about.

Mini- Maze vs Catheter Ablation
hi everyone I’m due to go back to Cardiologist this week. Some of you great people had responded to someone’s question about how the mini maze works on the outside of heart and the Catheter ablation inside the heart. Comments like when working inside the heart it damages some important tissue? I’ve

AV Node ablation.
I'm assuming he will be advising me to go ahead with an
AV
node
ablation
to help control my afib, which l now get every other day lasting on average for 4/5 hours. Although there are lots of positive stories here regarding Pace and Ablate l am still worried about having this done.

Post ablation tubal sterilisation syndrome (PATTS)
Has anyone else had both of these surgeries and gone on to have excruciating pain? During my surgery they found endometriosis and I've since had an MRI and CT scan (as well as lots of useless ultrasounds that find nothing). I've been diagnosed with deep infiltrating endo on ovaries, peritoneum and bowel

Anyone have side effects from omenectomy?
Hi everyone, I’m after some advice. I’ve decided to have a preventative total hysterectomy with salpingo-oopherectomy (one ovary is already gone with my OC tumor - I’m one year NED so far). I also have endometriosis too, so I’m hoping this helps stop that pain too. My procedure, together with a hernia

Ablation 3 weeks ago.
Female 65. I had a cardiac ablation on 16 Jan 2024. It was the worse thing I ever gone through. I felt everything and told the consultant. He said I had a low pain threshold. The nurse in the ward congratulated me for not requiring much medication! ( I have done fire walks with less pain) I was totally

Post ablation - enter site swelling
I had a catheter ablation on Thursday and I noticed this morning that the area around the entrance site in my groin is quite swollen. I don't have pain, blood or bruising. I'm just wondering what is normal swelling or if I should get it checked 🤔 I looked for info around and they say that some swelling

lymphedema from prostate cancer, any advice on how to manage?
One of my dad’s biggest issues with prostate cancer is severe lymphedema from the waist down. He used to just have it in his right leg from lymph node removal during RP. Since being on the lynparza in January both sides have swelled up as well as scrotum and everything else below the waist. He was told

Heart Issues post Ivor Lewis
Hi, wondering if any of you that have had the Ivor Lewis surgery have had heart issues post surgery? At 3 years post surgery I started having atrial fibralation. Now 5 years post surgery and the afib is worse but I also have Braychardia ( very low heart rate) Looks like I will need a cardiac ablation

Pace and Ablate update
It has now been seven months since I had my
AV
node
ablation
following having a pacemaker fitted in March and I thought I would just let you know how things are now. Hopefully this will also help those of you who may have to have the Pace and Ablate procedure next year.

Mini maze update.
Apologies I know I promised to post updates and haven't. I had my mini maze surgery back in September with the wonderful Mr Hunter on the NHS. I've been in NSR ever since which is amazing as I had moved to persistant Afib and I felt pretty awful all the time before surgery. I am soooo grateful to Mr

Fear and despair AV-Node may not help with my problem
I've always had hope that a pacemaker plus
AV
-
node
ablation
might be a last resort when all medications stop working and even "normal" ablation fails. But now I read that exactly this feeling will not stop after pace&ablate. Why not?
