Safety of Stress Echocardiogram
I have been scheduled for a Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram. I have stage 3A CKD. Dobutamine, atropine & an "dye" (not named) are used in this test. Are these likely to be harmful at all ?

Cryo ablation of AF -under sedation
Hi everyone, wasn’t sure about writing my update on my ablation Tues gone, it was terrifying. The following are my discharge summary. Then procedure was complicated by 1, a profound vasovagal episode requiring atropine and RV pacing. 2, severe pain during procedure 3, agitation causing ablation kit

Despite doing three long sessions of drainage for my Sarcoidosis, Lung Fibrosis and Brochiectasis, I still get tickling sensations in the left lung. This is affecting my sleep. It goes on and on. Grunting and clearing....grunting and clearing. I had a terrible night last night, hardly slept.

I observe all the 'helps' and guidance from my Lung Specialist for brochiectasis, Lung Fibrosis & Sarcoidosis. He suggested two puffs of my Atrovent inhaler 15 minutes before my two postural lung drainage sessions. I find that the inhaler traps mucus whereas without the inhaler I get a lot out.

Even though I do over 2 hours lung drainage every day (1 hour morning , 15 mins afternoon, then another hour evening) I still get a tickling sensation and mucus left in the lungs - particularly the left lung which is the worst one. It means I am grunting for much of the day. Annoying for me and my

I have severe bronchiectasis, sarcoidosis, lung fibrosis with honeycombing in upper lobes. Despite 3 x 1 hour drainage sessions, I have trouble when going to bed at night. Grunting and clearing for ages. I was kept awake for 3 hours one night before I slept. I have an Atrovent inhaler. My bed

Sinusitis side effect with Atrovent and Spiriva
Hi, after a flare up of asthma I was given Atrovent in addition to my Fostair, prednisolone, antibiotics (I had a raised temperature) and anti histamine. After a few days I developed sinus symptoms (which I’ve had on and off for years). I feel awful whenever I get this, not intense pain, but a pressure

Add on of Atrovent
Hi, Hope everyone is well. I’m having another flare up of my asthma, it has been poorly controlled for about 6 months and I’m on my third lot of prednisolone. I’ve only ever been on one steroid inhaler which is currently Fostair 100/6, having switched to this from Duoresp Spiromax 320/9 a couple of

Excess Mucous
My husband has excess mucous which causes him to cough all the time and he can’t ever really clear his throat which causes him to talk with a gurgle most times. The Neurologist has given him Atropine drops which helped initially but their affect has now worn off. The Neuro has now suggested Botox injections

Home Nebs 🫁 - they may help improve QoL in severe asthmatics, but are they safe?! Everything you need to know!
Hi everyone. Another infomercial for you all! Hopefully this will be relatively short (but you know me... they never are 😅), and it’ll definitely shorten my next post (add-ons from consultants)! So here we go... Home nebs are almost always frowned upon by consultants (and definitely disapproved of by

Atropine....saliva management
Hi All, Wondered if anyone had used Atropine eye drops as a way of sometimes managing the build up of saliva? J has a number of tissues to hand at all times in an attempt to manage saliva escaping her mouth. I'd heard that eyedrops containing Atropine can act to dry the mouth. The consultant also said

Botox vs atropine
I have been recommended to have botox injections into my saliva glands in order to control my drooling but last week I was unable to swallow any food after taking 4 drops of atropine under my tongue. Has anyone got experience of botox injections ?

Is it anxiety or asthma
I take Relvar 188 but I still need to take Atrovent sometimes 2 puffs twice a day. Is this normal. I am 66 years of age. I just feel my breathlessness is getting worse but yet my consultant and GP tell me my chest is clear. I suffer from anxiety so could this be the cause of my breathlessness. I also

Asthma
I had a very bad cold recently and it left me with with rather a lot of chest phlehm. Funnily enough my asthma did not get any worse. However to expel the phlegm I took two nebulisers a day of Ipramol and I find that my asthma has improved immensely. I was taking the Relvar every day(which I still do

Think this is gonna be a long one... (cause it has been so far... 😅😴)
First up, I am an idiot 😅🙈. Monday, I decided that it was a good idea to sprint (whilst pulling a suitcase) the length of 8 train carriages and up/over/down a bridge (missed the train I was chasing by about 10 secs anyway) in the cold/damp weather... this situation was not my fault I hasten to add
