Hi Everyone I researched what I could get for my husbands excess Sylvia and I found this asked my doctor twice for it but to no avail
Now he’s in the nursing home I asked them if they could give it to him
Wow what a difference no coughing now and he’s even getting his voice back eating foods he couldn’t manage before
Nursing homes are not all bad !!
Don’t let doctors fob you off yes there is side effects with all medicines one drop under the tongue morning and night unbelievable everyone he’s so much happier now I could have had it for the last year or two if I had known
He’s home for a sleepover and I just had a conversation with him for most of the afternoon for the first time in years and no fingers or thumbs required 👍👏👏😉

Good to hear the nursing home provided the drops for your husband. I have been using them for over a year now and it does help my husband. Sometimes just a little thing can make such a big difference!!!
I am so happy for you that you found that to help. Excess saliva was a problem for my late husband for 10 years and we never found anything to help except a suction machine toward the end.
So sorry that happened it really is disgraceful that the doctors do this my doctor wouldn’t give it either it took me to put my husband in a nursing home to finally get it ( I asked again) We try to do the best and we know them
The best after all
Don’t we ?
Bless you I bet you had lots of arguments like myself why don’t they just listen to the carer
So glad to hear of your good result. Our doctor was originally hesitant, as atropine was associated in his mind with end-of-life care and we were years from that, but we got a specialist to weigh in and he came around. It was a big help, although we did end up using more drops over time, and at the very end had to switch to glycopyrrolate, which also worked very well.
