Who else waiting too long for time critical surgery?

Just lost our 29 year old daughter to an aortic dissection. Surgeons that night did their best I am sure but she was awaiting aortic surgery delayed since March - too long! How many others are out there that are not getting their needed surgery?

Aortic dissection

Hello, My partner (32) underwent an emergency aortic dissection 7 weeks ago (16th March). The operation lasted 12 hours and was very complicated including being resuscitated twice and 2 blood diffusions. He left the operating theatre in a critical condition.

PKD diagnosis + aortic dissection

Has anyone any experience with aortic dissection and PKD as I know an aneurysm of the brain/aorta is a linked complication? Any advice would be welcome. Given his age and what he has just been through, these complications are worrying.

I hate Anxiety

An aortic dissection? A stroke? No Shutup brain. You’re gonna be ok. This will be over soon. Right? Right, sure, ok. Just don’t let anything bad happen to me. Please God. Deep slow breaths. Here comes the chest discomfort and bobble head feeling. Ok you can cry now it’s over.

Looking for correct group

Can anyone please advise if there is an HU group for my circumstances. I have SCC from parotid gland which has spread to neck lymph nodes. It's been removed by neck dissection and I'm on day 2 of Radio Therapy. Looking for support for the side effects of RT as well as recovery from the surgery. Thanks

Good news - Stage IIIB

Hi all, just wanted to share good news. I have had clear scan results today after being diagnosed with Stage IIIB, non small cell, adenocarcinoma in 2014, aged 43. My prognosis at the time was poor and I was told I was inoperable, terminal and treatable with palliative care. Discussions were around

Does being called for a flu jab every year (aged 62) make me an "at greater risk" person?

I am 62 years old and had CBGs, a Stent, an Aortic valve repair and repairs to my rising Aorta following an Aortic Dissection. My question is am I a person with an underlying health condition, as far as Covid19 goes? I can't get a straight answer from anywhere else I have asked.

Aortic Dissection

Last year I had an aortic root dissection which subsequently dissected all the way down the aorta. The root was repaired . I just wondered if anyone else has this.

How I overcame IBS-D

Dear all, I periodically post this advice to help new-comers to the subject. I consider myself a recovered IBS-sufferer and so like to share what I learned. I hope that you are keeping sane during the lockdown! This is my general approach to help people understand and repair their gastro-intestinal

Aortic Dissection type A Ascending.........Chronic

Hi just wondering if anyone knows someone like myself, who is living with Chronic Aortic Dissection type A ascending. If so, how long have they had it and how are they managing? I had mine in March 2018, but was not diagnosed until late July 2018 when I had an outpatient echocardiogram .

IBS basics for beginners
