Minimally invasive aortic valve replacement and sternalock

I have recently been diagnosed with bicuspid aortic valve and asymtomatic severe stenosis. 3 years ago, shortly after my husband died unexpectedly from aortic dissection, I got a private check up where the GP heard a murmur. The cardiologist I saw afterwards, did not see that ghe valve was bicuspid, this only came to light when I saw a different cardiologist.

I have now been referred to a heart surgeon who advised to opt for a mechanical valve (I am 58) and minimally invasive surgery. He suggested to use the sternalock blu system for faster and better healing of the sternum after surgery. Does anyone had this done? Any advice gratefully appreciated. Surgery planned for end of January

my husband is 15 days post op

After a mini sterniotomy but did not have steralock and was not an option where he was. We have only seen this recorded in the USA.He is 55 and chose Bovine valve due to the post op drugs.
