Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm
I'm a 76 year old female who had a 5.3cm
aortic
aneurysm
found last October during a CT scan for multiple Pulmonary Emboli. I've never been in hospital in my life and I'm so scared of open heart surgery, particularly at my age.

Ascending Aortic Aneurysm and dilated root
My family on my maternal side have this problem and my Nan, who died at 62 had 3 sons and my mum. Her youngest son is 74, my mum is 73. Both have been medicated for high cholesterol and bp since early 40 and had surgery but are the first members of that line that has lived past early 60’s. Anyway I was

Can you tell NICE what you think of a draft decision aid for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA)?
NICE are currently developing a patient decision aid for Abdominal
Aortic
Aneurysm
(AAA). A patient decision aid helps people take part in decision making about their care. They provide information on the options, but they do not recommend one option over another.

Feel Like I am going around in circles....
I was diagnosed with Bicuspid Valve in 2019 and then in March this year found out I also had an ascending
aortic
aneurysm
of 4.8cm. Trying to get an appointment to see a vascular is turning into a nightmare.

Aortic Abdominal Aneurysm - Female 4.8cm
I have recently found out I have an AAA at 4.8cm (found by accident when CT scan for other issues) I also have a Bicuspid Aortic Valve Disease (which for 50 years always presumed was a heart murmur) I have an appointment to see the Vascular Consultant in 2 weeks time. However I am scared. My dad

Ascending aortic aneurysm diagnosis
I am a 54 year old woman who has had an incidental finding of a thoracic ascending
aortic
aneurysm
. I have been told it's 4.4cm and they will monitor with CT scans but that the size that an operation will be necessary is 5.5cm. The surgeon explained this involves open heart surgery.

non cardiac chest pain?
By the way I am advised that unless
aortic
aneurysm
is growing quickly ( no evidence to date it is) that it should be asymptomatic.

SC in Australia
Hi everyone,I've got a packet of B12 (I'm in Australia and it's the Neo brand) and I'm thinking of injecting it SC. The problem is it says 'for IM use only'. It's hydroxocobalamin chloride 1mg in 1mL and the other ingredients are sodium chloride, water and acetic acid. Does anyone know if this sort

Hi,I'm Jo, I'm 55 and three years ago I had an
aneurysm
in my aorta so had an
Aortic
Root & Valve replacement at Papworth. I have been on Warfarin ever since, but it's had it's problems. My INR levels are all over the place even though I'm careful what I eat etc.

Advice on Rosuvastain side effects and alternatives?
I am a 68 year old male and in 2020 I had OHS to replace a Bicuspid
Aortic
Valve and to repair an ascending
aortic
aneurysm
. My recovery has overall been very good and eventually I have settled into a stable medication regime.

Hello
In April 2021 I was diagnosed with a severe
aortic
stenosis. I was also subsequently diagnosed with an
aortic
aneurysm
. After a lot of stress I was operated on in November 2021. I did not do well and ended up with a pacemaker.
