Open Heart Surgery Aortic aneurysm
Hi everyone, I am 41 and due to have my descending aorta fixed due to an aneurysm. They also found my aorta has created vascular ring around my trachea and oesophagus which needs to be sorted out. They plan to do a thorocotomy. Has anyone had experience of this? I can only find those who have had theirs

Effect of increased levo dose
I am hoping this will continue as I am resisting further pressure to take statins following discovery of
aortic
aneurysm
. Also the increased levo has caused a distinct improvement in my peripheral neuropathy- still a big issue but a very welcome improvement as I had hoped.

The continuing saga of the purple toe
But, on my last appointment with the consultant, I was sent for a scan on my abdomen and what a surprise - it showed an
aortic
aneurysm
. Seems the problem lies in my genes that I inherited from my father who died from an aneurysm.

Guess I'm a bit scared re. aorta as consultant said that continued inflammation could cause damage leading to aneurysms; my father died of an abdominal
aortic
aneurysm
so fears are not unfounded. Thanks, in anticipation, for any responses.

Grade 2 LV Diastolic Dysfunction
I already have an
aortic
root
aneurysm
, Atrial Fibrillation and recently had a Pacemaker fitted and was born with valve disease and had replacement BAV. So, now I feel like this is just another nail in my coffin when I see the words Heart Failure and read there is no cure for HF. Very scary!

chest pain with reflux
i have had mri , Ct, angiogram and had open heart surgery to repair an
aortic
aneurysm
in April last year. does anyone get chest pain like this as websites say chest pain is a symptom and mention squeezing that I guess could be classed as waves of pain ? Thoughts and experiences welcome!

European Aortic Guidelines 2024
In patient forums, it is a total pain when people say they have been diagnosed with an ‘AAA’ but do not spell out ‘abdominal
aortic
aneurysm
’ or ‘ascending
aortic
aneurysm
’: these guidelines show it is not only patients who get confused in this field.

CCF and AAA
About six months before he had a successful repair of an abdominal
aortic
aneurysm
. Is this a dangerous operation on someone with CCF or would the CCF have started after the operation ?

what to do if PPIs don’t work?
Had all cardiac tests and diagnosed and recently treated thoracic
aortic
aneurysm
. So it’s not cardiac. As a result had endoscopy that found chronic non cancerous oesophagetis.

Ascending Aortic Aneurysm
In hospital waiting for a Pacemaker to be fitted due to my AF and had an Echo which has just picked up that my Ascending
Aortic
Aneurysm
has gone from 2.8 cm on my last Echo in 2019 to 3.7cm yesterday. Should I be concerned? Any thoughts much appreciated , or am I worrying over nothing?

vasospastic coronary arteries
Well after 3 years and one

Incidence of Large Vessel Vasculitis in late diagnosis of PMR
Lately, I have come to believe there must be a link between late PMR diagnosis and lack of treatment where inflammation in the body is allowed to build up to such high levels and lead to Large Vessel Vasculitis and
aortic
aneurysm
and/or other conditions.

Feel lost
. 😪 I was from March scans 4.8cm ascending
aortic
aneurysm
and BAV with family history. I am now in pain with lower side backache and after seeing GP on Friday they have given me antibiotics as they think it's a kidney infection, and to see them again in a week if not improved.

What to do if PPIs dont work?
So have had all cardiac tests and diagnosed and recently treated via OHS for a thoracic
aortic
aneurysm
which was grafted. So it’s not blood supply or cardiac. As a result of a non cardiac issue I have had endoscopy that found chronic non cancerous oesophagetis.

Should I wear a medical alert bracelet?
I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve at 60 and, 4 years later, everything is fine apart from having an ascending
aortic
aneurysm
of 4.8 cm. I am being monitored yearly and in my last conversation with the aortic surgeon he said that they now consider surgery when it is between 5-5.5 cm.
