Hi everyone, Today I had an appointment at LHCH to discuss my next procedure with the cardiologist about my 50mm ascending aortic root aneurysm. I was given the option to either leave it and monitor it every six months or have surgery again. I chose the latter.

In 2019 I had Open Heart Surgery twice in the space of 11 days to fix an Ascending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm. Spent a month in the cardiac unit and that's when I first developed Afib. Before that I actually had Bradycardia, strangely enough. I was put on a high dose of Amiodarone for the Afib.

An abdominal aortic aneurysm is not something to have and not know about it, same for the pancreas cryst. I was never told either of these were possible but I had neither before going through these treatments.

I wish I had never had the surgery. 2 weeks Post surgery and 999 thought I was having an aortic aneurysm and sent 2 ambulances? morphine administered and whisked off. Had a CT for pancreatitis and/or gall bladder. All clear thankfully.

My husband is still being worked up for cardiac issues, due to growing Aortic Root Aneurysm , unstable BP ( while on Losatan and Metoprolol) and moderate-severe Aortic Valve Regurgitation. He stopped Abiraterone/Prednisone in mid December 2024, due to concerns with cardiac toxicity.

I have an aortic aneurysm and a dissected descending aortic aneurysm. I have declined surgery and wonder if there is anyone else in the same position . Everyone seems to have had or is awaiting surgery and I feel a bit on my own with this. Is it very unusual to decline surgery?

Hi I have just been diagnosed with a small 3.5cm aortic aneurysm by the hospital. However on visiting the GP today to discuss these results, he said that the hospital have not ask for any follow ups or any further treatments and I’ve just to get on with life.
