Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm

I'm a 76 year old female who had a 5.3cm aortic aneurysm found last October during a CT scan for multiple Pulmonary Emboli. I've never been in hospital in my life and I'm so scared of open heart surgery, particularly at my age.

aortic graft and valve

many people and particularly Cliff and Julian have helped me on my journey since the incidental finding in Sept 2021 of an ascending aortic aneurysm and bicuspid aortic valve . I am due to have elected planned surgery in Morriston south wales on April 20 and hope to report back after the operation.

Ascending aortic aneurysm diagnosis

I am a 54 year old woman who has had an incidental finding of a thoracic ascending aortic aneurysm. I have been told it's 4.4cm and they will monitor with CT scans but that the size that an operation will be necessary is 5.5cm. The surgeon explained this involves open heart surgery.

Ascending Aortic Aneurysm and dilated root

My family on my maternal side have this problem and my Nan, who died at 62 had 3 sons and my mum. Her youngest son is 74, my mum is 73. Both have been medicated for high cholesterol and bp since early 40 and had surgery but are the first members of that line that has lived past early 60’s. Anyway I was

non cardiac chest pain?

By the way I am advised that unless aortic aneurysm is growing quickly ( no evidence to date it is) that it should be asymptomatic.

All a bit confusing as I suffer from Cranial CSF Leaks ( 3 surgical repairs)as well and had open heart surgery to have an Aortic Aneurysm repaired. Multiple things going on though I function really well on a daily basis considering everything!!

Have any of you been diagnosed with Loeys- Dietz Syndrome? My results came back in May 2022 TGFB3- syndrome 5.

I was tested my my rheumatologist due to Ehlers Danlos, multiple hernias beginning age 18 months, cervical instability, and my mother passed away from clotting complications ( anti phospholipid syndrome) and surgical complications post AAA ( aortic abdominal aneurysm) repair/ graph surgery.

ascending aorta graft

A reminder that I was diagnosed with a 4.9 cm ascending aortic aneurysm in sept 2021 along with a bicuspid aortic valve . Both were found as incidental findings. I was 61 at the time. Was monitored by echo every 6 months.

Hello

In April 2021 I was diagnosed with a severe aortic stenosis. I was also subsequently diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm. After a lot of stress I was operated on in November 2021. I did not do well and ended up with a pacemaker.

Advice on Rosuvastain side effects and alternatives?

I am a 68 year old male and in 2020 I had OHS to replace a Bicuspid Aortic Valve and to repair an ascending aortic aneurysm. My recovery has overall been very good and eventually I have settled into a stable medication regime.

anyone tried or recommended to use Secukinumab(cosentyx) for GCA?

These findings were a bit disturbing, as I developed a Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm from GCA. Thus thought would reach out for any insight from this knowledgeable group.

Erratic Heart Rate - Afib or Tachycardia 24 hour heart monitor.

Since my Open Heart Surgery's twice in April 2019 for an Ascending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm I've had Afib and Tachycardia issues and was on Amiodarone for a few and months and now on bisoprolol. It settled for a while but its gradually came back and more recently its gotten more frequent.

Heart Rhythms

Strange one I had open heart surgery twice in 2019 for an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm. Though as far as I know my heart was in good condition. I then had bouts of Afib following surgery. More recently I've had bouts of Tachycardia.
