How best do I help my son?
Hello, I'm new here. Eight months ago our 30 year old son who has Aspergers came off his antidepressant (tapered too quickly by his psychiatrist). He lives with my husband (his dad) and me. At first he was doing OK, but a couple weeks after being completely off the med he started having intrusive thoughts

I have tried
antidepressants
and anti anxiety pills, but neither gets to the core of the issue. I don’t seem to be habituating.

I am tired of feeling exhausted due to anxiety and I feel like I do not fit in anywhere
So I started taking
antidepressants
and in the beginning I felt much better and I even stopped feeling like a piece of garbage and having negative thoughts. But then I had to change my medicine because of side effects and my anxiety kinda got back and now I don’t really feel well again.

Abilify and weight gain
I am on an antidepressant for my depression, and then added Abilify last year which has helped with the extremes I feel in anger and frustration, and also the depths of despair. I like the effects of Ability as a mood stabilizer, but I started gaining unwanted weight. Anyone have a suggestion for

Viibryd and Dopamine
I had been trying to switch to Viibryd from Effexor. I had made it about 3 weeks when everything went down in flames. Anxious beyond measure and fast heart rate. Just a 24/7 anxiety show. My doctor said she has had patients do well for a few weeks then it stops working if it’s not a good fit. She said

AMPA Receptor Excitotoxicity and neurodegeneration.
Recently NMDA receptor agonists have been discussed as a means of reducing excitoxicity. I just learned of AMPA receptor Excitotoxicity. Below are quotes from a paper I will link. Excitotoxicity is one of the primary mechanisms of cell death in a variety of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous

Update to previous post
I saw the GP yesterday for a follow-up to my on-going problems. The 24 hour blood pressure monitor showed blood pressure ok but she’s still not had the results of the 7-day ECG monitor. In the meantime, I still have a heart beat which is still running between 90 and 100bpm. The GP could offer no explanation

Feeling helpless
I went onto
antidepressants
and I’ve been to counselling (which helped soo much …. AND there is a lot of family politics to add). To today - my 16 year old is adorable. Lovely, friendly and I adore them. BUT …. Since covid it’s ruined them!

10 Days Into Hospital Detox Once Again..
Yes I'm on
antidepressants
but there not going to work when I drink (not every day) or do oxycodone or sleeping pills, so I'm getting help for it all. I do apologise about the war and peace post lol but I'm in need of somewhere to share that isn't AA or a poster on my ward wall.

Could this be PMR related?
Having lived with PMR for almost 5 years, I really felt I understood this illness pretty well but I’m having different issues just now and am having pain around the midrib area, accompanied by Heart beat of around 140bpm and blood pressure of 205/95. This started a couple of months ago and I was taken

Has anyone taken the antidepressant Efexor? How was it? How did your Dr determine what dosage to take?

Source of T3
All my GP will offer is
antidepressants
. I’ve slowly increased my T4 from 50mg to 125mg over the year, but my T3 levels never increase. My T4 plummeted at the start of winter (is that usual? It’s very cold here) and I’m still recovering from a serious bout of depression and fatigue.
