Atrial flutter newly diagnosed

Hello, I’ve been diagnosed with Atrial Flutter after my first episode of palpitations 2 days ago. I’m on blood thinners and heart tablets and waiting to see a cardiologist. Up until it happened I’ve had a lot of ectopic beats and still getting them. Feeling really down and scared about it. Anyone else have atrial flutter?

Hi there. Yes I still get them. They are a bit daunting at first but once you realise what there they become easier. I didn't realise when I first got them I just assumed they were palpitations which just stopped after a few minutes. Even resting I still have ectopics

Hi There!! No need to worry, Fluttering etc are absolutly nothing to worry about!!! the ONLY time its needing medications are if the heart is constantly out of rythem and then its short term medication time over say 3 months and if that dont fix the heart electricle system then Cardio Version a simple treatment solves most people, ive had two cardio versions in the last 5 years and its painless takes mins and then perfect!! main thing is an echo ecg test and exam to check your hearts phisical condition, also change diet and no smoking or more that 1 glass wine daily, ive been where you now are so i know everything about the stress, its ONLY an electricle fault that millions have!!! the worst thing is the meds side effects.. ...please dont worry and drink plenty of water daily cut out salt also..
