A question i need to ask is in relation to the Watchman. I have not been able to find any comments by anyone who has has had this procedure in conjunction with cardiac ablation. This is an approved procedure in countries other than Australia where it is currently on trial. How is the trial in Australia at the moment. I need to hear from people who have had this procedure as i am considering it at the moment as i have had difficulities with anticoagulants.

My EP says that only certain people undergo the Watchman procedure and it is not performed during a cardiac ablation. It is a separate procedure. He said, I do not need it even though I was in Afib at the time.
I don’t know what the situation is in Australia, but here in the UK, it is not generally available unless it is medically proven that the patient is unable to take anticoagulants. As I understand it, it is available in the States but at considerable cost, so there may be some members from there who could tell you more about the procedure. Also, you could use the search box top right of this page......
