Iron testing - results O.K.?
Just had my iron retested, having done it incorrectly the first time. This time, I stopped taking iron 48 hrs. before and fasted after midnight. I think the results look as though iron's not my problem. Can some more knowledgeable member let me know if that appears to be correct? Thanks! Results

Thyroid Hormone Use in Mood Disorders: Revisiting the Evidence
Discussion about using thyroid hormones in psychology and psychiatry is all too rare. For that reason, even short papers like this have their own value. It is not that there haven't been papers - but there aren't that many and, by the time we see them, they can appear as if they are historical documents

folate
Hi I’ve been on b12 injections for years now and I have them every 8 weeks, but the past couple of years the Drs have found I’ve had about 3 folate deficiencies, I take 3 months of folic acid and then told that’s all I need and then few months later might have an unrelated blood test and find I’m deficient

BMB showed Reticulin grade 1, I have no idea what that means but the bloods have improved as I was bordering
anaemia
for a while. I seem to have swapped the itch for the fatigue but I'll take the fatigue any day over the itch. To sum up I'm happy with it.

Levothyroxine and iron prescription
hi everyone, Just been told I’ve got low iron by the dr from my bloods and was looking online that you can’t take levo and iron together and they have to be taken on an empty stomach. Please can someone confirm is this is correct? Thank you for your help.

Could Members With Experience of PBC Without A Gallbladder Feels Like , Is Treatment and Diagnosis done the same way? Thanks
I was recently also diagnosed with Vitamin B 12
Anaemia
/sero negative PA , I have malabsorption problems that cause regular Vitamin D deficiency and have Chronic Migraine and Fatigue syndromes. Basically , I have many health issues that either link to my EDS and Autoimmunity.

Some help with interpreting iron panel please.
My mum is supplementing with iron. Crp hs 0.48 (0-5) Iron 29,9 (5.8-34.5) Tibc 62.7 (45-81) Uibc 30.9 (24.2-70.1) Transferrin 47.5 (20-50) Ferritin 298.6 (13-150) It looks as though she should’ve stopped a while back. Any insight with what these numbers are now saying and mean would be helpful

diagnosed
Was originally diagnosed 8 years ago. I have not had injections for 2 years due to covid so asked GP to restart them but wouldn’t without blood test etc. blood test has come back saying b12 is normal and intrinsic factor is negative so he is saying I don’t have PA anymore? And therefore won’t treat me

I have ordered VB12 from Germany which has just arrived. I’m not sure what size needles to order and wondered if someone could advise me please? I’m 70kgs and plan to SI in my thighs. What size needle should I use?

When blood tests don't show the reality in lupus
im sure there are so many of you who have blood test after blood test that doesn't show the true and complete picture of what is going on. GPs don't give me the actual numbers bc I'm medical, instead they say normal or satisfactory which to me mean very little. And is their normal my normal? I know

hi again guys I’ve been taking b12 lozenges daily now 5000mcg x 5-6 a day to increase the dose while I wait for GPS to do their investigations… intrinsic factor came back at 1.63 but I know it’s not reliable. Waiting to see haematology and neurology privetly so don’t want to take too many more supplements

New blood test results
B12 I have stopped due to it being high on my last couple of tests (I thought I might have pernicious
anaemia
due to other family members having it, but a GP blood test ruled that out). I did buy some Thorne B Complex supplements, but am not using them due to their containing B12.

Folate
I have very high parietal cell antibodies and a long history of
anaemia
and neurological and other symptoms without b12 injections but haven’t been diagnosed with PA because the IF test was negative. That was 14 years ago and I’m now 61. Should I be pressing for another IF test now I’m older?

Help/advice needed -1st marathon in 4 weeks + really struggled this week...anaemia or overtraining?
Hi, I've got my first marathon in 27days -well its actually 45km (Adidas Terrex South Downs). It's quite hilly (2770 ft ascent) and so I've been mostly training on the Downs. Had a couple of setbacks in April/May, but since then have managed to stick to my plan, but have perhaps overdone the increase

Update
I know members will probably tell me off for supplementing with iron but in my defence it did seem an avenue worth pursuing due to my issues with iron and
anaemia
in the past. I'm so fed up with feeling ill.

Adrenals or Not Adrenals
Well, further to my post last week, I've had the results of both my faecal occult blood test (for new re-occurring digestive issues) and BNP blood test (for indications of heart failure) and all have come back normal with no further action required. The extreme fatigue has improved significantly
