Recovery from heart angiplasty
Did rehab course but then diagnosed with slight
anaemia
. Put on iron tabs and generally health ok in the next year. Still had
anaemia
but Hemoglobin Concentration a bit low ( 120 ) seemed acceptable to medics.

Just started Thyroxine
I have also been diagnosed with pernicious
anaemia
and had a Vitb12 injection. I think I read that after starting Thyroxine may feel worse before better.

Low B12 and ferritin questions
The NHS suggest you automatically do a test for intrinsic factor antibodies/ pernicious
anaemia
if your levels are under 100. My doctor said that my deficiencies are probably due to diet. It was only when I asked about the intrinsic factor test that they then agreed to test for it.

Hi all, following conversation on here I asked my doctor for a blood test to check for Pernicious
Anaemia
. These are the results. They all look good. Could someone please point out which ones the pernicious
anaemia
tests are? TIA 😊.

Can anyone recommend a good haematologist or Neurologist for pernicious anaemia
Hi can anyone recommend a haematologist or neurologist who has a good understanding of pernicious
anaemia
anywhere in England? (Needs to be NHS as GP said they won't act on any recommendation from a private doctor).

Saw Dr Klein at the Cambridge blood clinic.
So I finally saw Dr Klein, He says 100% I have pernicious
anaemia
and it’s quite bad. I have to inject ever other day for a year. Apparently my folate and ferritin is good. My vitamin D is also a tad low. My bladder issue could be to do with the
Anaemia
. Likewise it could be reversing out.

Blood test iron results
Recent blood test looking at iron levels / potential
anaemia
. Iron level, serum 9.0 umol/L, transferrin level, blood 2.88 g/L, transferrin saturation 14%, ferritin level, serum 12 ug/L ( Mar 2021 54 ug/L). Not had a clear assessment yet, anybody able to give an interpretation?

How long did it take for you to feel better?
A little over three weeks ago I then was diagnosed with pernicious
anaemia
based on PCA and chronic gastritis. At that time, I got one 1 ml b12 injection and was told to continue with the oral supplements.

Anaemia
Well, seems that I am anaemic after all: blood tests at Marsden showef Hb of 114: low enough for me to feel lousy but not low enough for transfusion. Maybe one unit in s couple of weeks time if on retesting. Its dropprd below 110. Will then try starting EPO injections when I get back from holiday

High B12 - more tests needed?
My SO has several
anaemia
symptoms - pallor, breathlessness, fatigue, dizziness, nausea etc. GP says the bloodwork is OK despite family history of PA. Blood tests (GP & Medichecks) so far show haemoglobin & MCH a bit below range, haematocrit & MCH low but in range.

I posted them on the Pernicious
Anaemia
group as obviously that is her most immediate problem. I looked at the thyroid results and thought they looked ok for somone not treated for now, but the PA group said to ask you what you think so here goes ... Thanks

B12 injections stopped by gp after 5 years treatment on nhs
They have stated that my deficiency is due to malabsorption, but my intrinsic factor tests were negative (I’ve read that negative intrinsic factor tests doesn’t mean you don’t have pernicious
anaemia
).

Can pernicious anaemia be caused by long term use of lansoprazole?
A vitamin b12 blood test said bad intrinsic factor and this must mean pernicious
anaemia
with a regular injection of b12. Ive had these three or four times and still dont feel right. Can anyone tell me the answer to my question?

Vit B12 deficient again after being taken off injections two years ago.
His GP said he likely had Pernicious
Anaemia
and gave him a loading dose of injections and then he had an injection monthly thereafter. It took some time for him to be well again and we would notice his symptoms returning after two weeks. We then moved and attended a new GP clinic.

Newbie and confused. Functional B12 deficiency?
Like I said, I am a newbie here and there is such a lot to learn, but am I right in thinking my results indicate I could have macrocytic
anaemia
?

B12 help
I read online the MCH this high was macrocytic
anaemia
but my endo didn’t tell me that. I have been supplementing B complex and sometimes B12 liquid nature provides since. In April 2023 B12 was 810 (191-663). In October 2022 MCH went to 31.1 and May 2022 MCH was 31.5.
